Another Permanent Resident in Ireland...

Mr. Ahern said the men's identities, travel details and locations of new residences would be kept secret. He said they would receive permanent residency rights and wouldn't be treated as refugees, a legal status that would allow them to work and move freely.
Mr. Jabbarov says he, his wife and child were living as refugees near the Afghan-Uzbek border in October 2001 when he accepted a ride in a car from soldiers of the National Alliance, a military faction long at war with the Taliban. He says the soldiers kidnapped him and delivered him to U.S. troops to collect an easy bounty.

He was transferred to Guantanamo in 2002 and cleared for release in February 2007. His U.S. lawyer, Michael Mone, has compared his client to the comic film and TV character Borat and says Mr. Jabbarov has been hoping to resettle in Ireland because it is a land with many sheep, and he was a shepherd back home in Uzbekistan.

Oh Mr Ahern.

He seems to be in a world of his own.

What a wishful thinking he had.

He thinks he can keep the world and the Irish people in the dark, like his department is doing to Naturalisation Applicant and Non-EEA family member of EEA national.

One could only hope that these two Uzbeks , who have frankly speaking, suffered so much, for doing absolutely nothing, are not used as an excuse for delays in processing our applications.

I hope they have been briefed about the DOJ practices.

I also hope it won't take a year before they could see the shores of Ireland.

They'd probably be better off taking their chances with the taliban.

I think i would be inclined to agree with you on that.

A hope Mr. Jabbarov and his sheep have a more quiet life in Ireland!

There was me thinking they are doing this out of the goodness of their heart, for a third country national, who has been incarcerated in that dump called Guantanamo Bay.

With these corrupt individuals nothing goes for nothing.
