Can I apply from within UK

Post by vidu » Mon Aug 10, 2009 7:33 pm

Hi Guys,

I am currently in the UK for 3-4 months now, and I will be here this entire month. I would want to know if I can apply from within UK. Following is my situation as of today:

About my stay in the UK:

1. Am I on company sponsored work permit: Yes
2. Do I get salary in UK: Yes
3. Do I get a salary Slip in UK: Yes
4. Do I get salary in India for the time of my stay in UK: Yes (HRA+DA and Basic)
5. Earnings in UK: 2850 GBP per month gross

General:

1. Education: Bachelors Degree, and PGDCA
2. Work Experience: 5.5 yrs in IT
3. Age: 27 yrs (28yrs in Oct 2009)

If I can apply from within the UK, which are the best OISC approved companies do process it, and what would be the time and cost for the service.

Cheers,
V

Is PGDCA equivalent to a Masters degree? See also UK Tier 1 General Visa from Tier 2 Visa.

Don;t think PGDCA is equivalent to Masters Degree. Please check in PBS list.

@tvn: yes he will get UK exp points.

To gain points for UK experience, you need to have earned atleast £ 16,000 in the UK. Considering OP's UK gross salary a minimum of 6 month's UK payslips are required to claim those points.

Thanks for correction. I missed the below point in guidance. With the details provided by Vidu...guess he will be fine with this reqt. if he apply after 2-3 months.

154. If an applicant has claimed points in the section for previous earnings, and these were for earnings made both in United Kingdom and outside the United Kingdom, at least £16,000 of the earnings must be United Kingdom earnings to receive the points for UK experience.

vidu just check your degree on the points calculator...
