ILR success - HSMP (JR) at Croydon PEO

Post by hert » Fri Aug 28, 2009 2:23 pm

Hi all,

I got the ILR for me/my dependents successfully yesterday and would like to thank all members of this board for their feedback and advice.
Here's brief info on my ILR experience (mostly similar to other members):
Appointment- 2.30
Arrived- 2pm
Went through security check. and was advised to head straight away to one of the counters at Ground floor.
Showed my ILR form and lady at counter asked for following docs:
1. Form
2. Passports
3. P60s (4 yrs)
4. Bank statements (3 mo)
5. Pay slips (3 mo)
She stamped the application as valid and advised me to go to 1st floor.
Went upstairs - 2.15. Paid fee (no queue for fee)
Sat in waiting area for about 20 min and then was called at interview counter.
Handed over the above docs (with photos included with form) to the lady.
She did some checking at her computer (abt 15 min) and said she would need to do more checks and will take time. Asked me to come back in abt 1 hr though indicated things seem okay.
I guess there was some computer probs as I got my passports back at 5pm (was expecting it around 4.15 or so). But was happy to see stamping done on all passports. The Customer care lady was very nice and asked me to review the visa details for any errors.
Overall, am quite pleased.

I'll need to start looking at Child benefits now as am PR now :D and to start journey for citizenship.
Will be reviewing HMRC links later on but does anyone know if I can claim tax credits now (earnings <50K, wife - not working)? Have no intention of bothering about housing/council benefits, JSA.

Again, thanks everyone for your support.
Cheers

Yes Saturday

I too got surprised when the person over phone gave me this date

I asked him again and again.

he replied for 3 times the date and day. also became slightly impatient in that

Then I learnt that there are some saturday appointments too available in some PEOs
