I have just been on the phone to HO on 0845 010 5200 Option 3, 1, 2. Agent told me that my application is complete. i.e a decision has been made however I will not know decsion until letter is sent. Now the wait is killing me. I will update board once I know for certain. I applied via NCS on 4th August 2009.

Hi bgizzle,
A quick question, how you manage to get the update on your application? I have called HO today the very first question advisor asked me is when I have applicated for the Nationality (I have applied on 29th July). He was very quick to say that he is unable to give any update as the application is still under 6 months , I am sure he hasn't checked anything on the system

regards,
Pisces

On of my friend did not receive acknowledgment even after 3 weeks and then he contacted home office on the above number,Contact center agent initially reluctant to give any update but upon saying that there is no acknowledgement received , the contact center agent did confirm that a decision has been made on the application and it's been sent by post.

I believe if they have made a decision with in 3-4 weeks we can consider it as approved, if they take more time it could be becaus they don't have enough information or they arer waiting for some additional checking process to complete.

I have had both sides of the coin. In the past when I called i got someone who just said "cant tell you anything until after 6mths" and other times a nice person who I just tell the truth. My employers want to send me to other locations for meetings and have asked me to check on the status of application to know the feasibility of visa applications. The lady this morning was extremely helpful. She did say the letters can take anything up to 3weeks to get to me, which confirms that they are sent by 2nd class post

I called today.the only thing that they could tell me is that a decision will be made shortly on my application. Really don't know how exactly it translates to number of days from the timeframe point of view . Any body had a similar experience before and roughly how long takes ?

biggizle....

how come they let you know your application has been processed when you only applied on august 4? i phoned them few days ago as i applied on august 11 and they said that they wouldnt say anything until 12 WEEKS have passed!! and they seemed pretty strict on that! eventho you dnt have the decision at least you know it will be with you shortly!!
this is so frustrating....

also as i applied on august 11 for a post study work permit (im currently on student visa) do you think this wait is normal or should i have gotten my passport back already??

thanks

Receipt of Passport application documents

Post by zkashan » Sat Sep 05, 2009 9:09 am

I've noticed that many mention receipt of documents after they apply for the passport. Is it always the case that the (e.g. passport ) you submit is returned before the interview? I am planning on flying out 7 weeks after I mail my passport application - am I being stupid?

Hi lilly09 this thread is for naturalisation applications. Maybe the HO cant discuss post study work applications until after 12 weeks. Goodluck

hi tech. I am yet to receive my approval letter or ceremony invitation letter. I am hoping to get something early next week. The wait is becoming unbearable :-(

Does anyone know how long it takes from decision to receipt of letter??

As far as I know, normally it shouldn't take more than a week (10 days at worst case) from the decision date. Give them a follow up call and find out the status on monday/tuesday.

Some people received ceremony invitation from the council directly before approval letter. you may get this invitation first if council has got ceremony slots available to accomodate you . Because public ceremony is normally conducted every 4 weeks ( or 6 weeks) depending on the demand and you need to take part in the ceremony within 90 days.

You can contact your council (or your preferred one if you have chosen different one in your application) to see whether they already have you on their list for next scheduled ceremony.

Did HO tell you actual decision date ? Is your application single or family ?

Hi Tech. I might just take your advice and give them a call on Monday if I haven't received approval by then. My application is a single one. When I spoke to the HO the lady on the phone informed me that my application was "completed" on 1st September.
