Got approved as well

Applied From: United Kingdom

Confirmation received: 27 August 2009
Fee debited: 26 August 2009
Visa, Passport received: 19 September 2009

As a note, my application was rejected twice: once for photos not being "recent" enough and once because I resent the original application. Luckily I was not charged on both occasions.

still waiting

Post by boy_oh_boy » Wed Sep 23, 2009 1:58 pm

I am in UK under HSMP. Applied on 10th or 11th of August 2009. Got the acknowledgment letter from HO which was dated 13-Aug-2009. Along with my application (as main applicant), I had submitted 2 dependant forms as well. Still waiting for the passport (hopefully with visa) and all the other documents.

This is pretty longer than usual. The helpline is not at all helpful as already discussed in these forums. WHat if the documents were lost on transportation and I will get to know this at the end of 14 weeks?!

Anybody with any ideas?

Since its only 6weeks since u applied.. i think you shd give some time for the decision to be taken.. patience pays.. dont worry too much if your case is straight forward and you provided all the docs and proofs as per HO Guidance.. goodluck

In order to be eligible for ILR, is it imperative to enter within 28 days from visa start date? Isn't it possible to keep applying for extensions until such time that you complete 5 years?

I am unable to find any documentation regarding this on the UKBA website. Can anyone point me to this info?

No, nothing like that...

your clock for ILR starts the 1st time you enter into the country.. and it is possible to keep extending untill you satisfy your time period as long as you are eligible to extend..

Hi,

I have seen following paragraph in my approval letter

" You should familiarise yourself with the requirements for further leave to remain in this category. You should note that the requirements may be revised and such revisions may apply to migrants who already hold leave to remain in this category."

What does the mean?

Thanks,

Vivek

Guys,
Me and 2 dependant's passports with visas arrived just now.. Keep up the good work all the people.

Acknowledgement date: 13-Aug-09
Passport received with visa and other docs - 25-sep-09 (Do no know the visa stamped date as I have not yet seen the passport)

All the best people. Please note that there can be delays during august-september time in UK. My guess is that this is because of the holiday and vacation period. I had checked and found out the same delays in Aug-September of last year also.

From the date ur are approved with the visa till the date ur visa is valid.. you will be effected by any changes in the rules applied to ur category.. this is something the UKBA puts for them to be on the top n safe..
but we never know wat changes that will come or revised.. this is wat i think (not from guidance)

your clock for ILR starts the 1st time you enter into the country.. and it is possible to keep extending untill you satisfy your time period as long as you are eligible to extend..
But the UKBA website clearly says the 5 year starts fron the date of your visa starts not the date you enter the UK for the first time? Seniors and Moderators please confirm.
