Work permit and Certificate of Sponsorship?

Post by Rachel24 » Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:05 pm

Is it possible for an employee to have a work permit and CoS from two different employers at the same time?

Would the issue of one cancel the earlier one?

Is anyone able to direct me to any guidance dealing with this on the UKBA site?

You can only have one leave to remain vaild at anyone time when it comes to Tier 2, so as soon as your Passport is returned from the new Work Permit application, that is the leave to remain that is then active and relavent to you.

HOWEVER! :) Even when you are employed by one company, you are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week in a different role that does not require new sponsorship so long as you are using the same skills and at the same level that is mentioned on your Work Permit.

For example, if your sponsored as a .NET devloper you can't then work as a barman on week-ends, but you could work as a .NET devloper for another company.

Hope this helps in some way.
