Criminal history

Post by xiaowei » Tue Nov 03, 2009 12:01 pm

Hi,
I have some questions to ask. I am applying for ILR. I got caught by police a year ago. I plead guilty and the court sent me fine penalty but I did not appear in court. So on the form personal history section, should I say Yes or No?

Thanks

If the fine was issued by the court (i.e not fixed penalty issued on the spot), then enter Yes. What offense was the fine for?

thanks for the reply.
I was for kerb crawling.
I contacted a law consultant. He told I did not have to put the fact in the form as the HO would not check if I apply in person.
Is that true?
Thanks

Rubbish. It would be madness to withold a conviction.

Thanks for the reply.

Would they definitely give me a NO after seeing the conviction? Would they give me a chance to explain?

Thanks

They may well grant the ILR, but you could be automatically refused if you don't declare the conviction.
