Timescales shown on CIC website

Post by Rhodes » Thu May 20, 2004 9:43 am

Does anyone happen to know how to interpret the application processing times shown on the CIC website, please? For example, if the website says that they’re processing applications received up to April 26, and that the current processing time is 35 days, does that mean that they are now beginning to look at the applications received on 26th April and that they will make a decision in about 35 days from now, or that they are likely to make a decision 35 days from 26th April? Or something different, perhaps?

Forget that. I have just read on the same page of the CIC site that I got the original information:

You can estimate the amount of time it will take to process your application by noting the date posted under the column “Processing Applications Received Up To”. Add the amount of days posted under the column “Current Processing Time” to the date you submitted your application to get a date when you should receive a response from CIC. These processing times include a 10-day mailing period.
