MP's details

Post by taylondon » Mon Nov 30, 2009 9:50 am

you can find your MP by puting your postcode on the following link:
http://www.parliament.uk/mpslordsandoffices/index.cfm

once you've found your MP, you can go to his/her website and get his/her contact details. Now 99% of the MPs got their own web site.

First try to call them, u might need to leave a voicemail, their assistants always come back to you. Try to explain them your case on the phone
ask them to call HO by using their dedicated phone line, if they say the line is down than ask them to write HO on behalf of you.
They might ask u to book an appointment to see them or they might ask u to put it in writing and send it to them enclosing all your documants.
or they might simply take your details on the phone, depends on the MP and his/her assistant.

@ Taylondon, thanx for putting up the contact your MP Link.

I think maybe to Contact My Local MP too. Just been to his Website and it appears that he holds regular Monthly surgeries (2ice a month on Fridays and Saturdays so really its 4times a month) and no appointments are required. His Next one Local to me 11th December, I might pop in to see him them with all my paper work and by that time I would have been 18wks, they probably wont get the letter with documentation till the following week 19/20. I think that is fair enuff and me not coming across as a pest to the Caseworker. But it is just unfair that they just leave us hanging not know what is going on!!

Like you say if they are gonna approve, they should, if they are gonna decline they should... They should just make a decision and have us move on to the next stage.

For some reason, I just think they hold on for so long, till people get Fed up and want to withdraw their application, and at this stage they have collected the Fees *no refunds as u have opted to withdraw after making a valid application* and they dont have to do anymore work.... My thinking anyways! lol

Hi MsKay,

I would love to add you to the List is very specific to those of us applying Set O 10 years long Residence as there is only a hand full of us and as the Criteria is quite different I made the list for other 10yrs Long Residence to easily identify others they can relate to.

That being said there is there actually a thread dedicated to SET M applications. That should definitely be of interest to you.

Wish you all the best with your application... I guess one thing we have in come is the agonizing wait... :-(

Congratulations charliegal!!

That is about 15wks to issue and about 17wks wait fro you to actually receive it! I wonter what the 2wkl delay was for!.But I am pleased the wait is over for you.

Can you please confirm which UKBA site issued the ILR, is it also Sheffield and how long after they asked you for further information, had it sent to them, did they issue your ILR?

It has been 108 days of waiting by today. Never heard anything from UKBA after receiving the acknowledge letter.

If they need us to provide additional document, when will us be contacted after the application is submitted?

Backlogs, I doubt, the number of people waiting in this forum are too low and not many say i got it. There should be some other reason, may be many case workers are taking their annual leave.

Cheers.

"sodedra"
I sent mine on the 1 Oct under 5 years wp+tier 1 and not heard a thing.
We all in the same boat. It is sad that the HO does not consider that people have lives and will need to travel. The sad thing is you pay a lot for the visa's and unfortunately i can't say there is much value for money after 9 weeks with no reply.

Hang in there.

Hi,

came to this post when I try to search other applications under 10 years policy. Nice to know you guys here.

Just would like to add my PR application under 10 years policy details here:

Case created in HO: 17 August 2009
Acknowledge Letter: 20 August 2009

It has been 15 weeks and I have to keep waiting.

When I called the Home Office this week and last week, the answer is "Not Yet Completed".
Hello,

You may add me as well - 10 years long residency application for SET (O) ILR.

Application sent: 26 Aug 09
HO received: 27 Aug 09
Payment debited: 28 Aug 09
Acknowledged: within a week

Into week 14 now and still waiting.

Will give UKBA a call end of next week on the application progress.

See what they will say.

Fingers crossed.
Called today - they just said "Not yet been Completed".

When asked 1. what does it mean? 2. Has my application been assigned a case worker? The answer was: There is limited information we can give. We do not know the progress. Please wait for UKBA to contact you.

Exactly the same experience as so many...

HI,

I sent my SET O FORM on the 19 /11/09 . Also completed application for dependant over 18 years . completed 2 payment slip one for myself and other for dependant (SON) over 18 yrs.

Payment of £820 taken on 24/11/09

Acknowledge received on 26/11/09

Second paymt of £820 not taken from account .

Called Home Office on number on acknowledge letter but told nothing can be done as its another section that deal with payment . have to wait until application is processed and if right fee not paid . the whole application will be returned.

i believe the second applicant for dependant was missed out and not a matter of paymt not going through.

Can anyone advice on what i can do as i do not want application returned.

Thanks

Congratulations Mag4kg! Torture is over for you! :-)

Can you tell me the UKBA Agency that issued your ILR: was it Sheffield, Croydon, Liverpool etc?
