After a long wait sign of relief..... got my visa stamped today, Many Thanks for all your help guys.... But....

So here is my case....

Application sent : 10th Nov
Received: 11th Nov
Fee deducted: 12th Nov ( Applied via credit Card)

Stamped: 3rd Dec for 3 years...

Docs received: 29th Dec....

Reason for delay: Have sent 2 dependent application: Wife + Kid,

Visa for me and my kid has stamped on 3rd Dec, but for my wife the stamp date is 21st dec....

Also, For my Wife visa they have put incorrect Date of Birth....

Please advise, I will try to call HO tomorrow... but do i need to send all the 3 passport back with any application or i just need to send one passport with letter....

Also, is it possible to go in person and get it done???

Hi long time lurker, first time poster here. I have been reading this board for couple of months before applying and thank everyone for useful info.
My application story:
Applied in USA, New York Consulate
Mailed my packet on Dec.8.
Packet received by consulate on Dec. 9 (according to FedEx)
Application receipt confirmation email on Dec 11
Outcome Email stating that "Your Visa has been issued" and the passport is dispatched received on Dec. 29.
It took 8 working days, since NYC office had extensive Christmas Holidays and I assume my case was decided even before they went on holidays since I got the email at 9am on Dec. 29.

Can someone confirm that "Your Visa has been issued" means that I 100% getting my passport back with visa stamped. I am very nervous as I am not sure if they send this information to everyone even to those who are rejected?
If visa is not issued, what do they write in the email?

i think you just need to send your+your wife's passports becos you being the main applicant ?? but i will better try to speak to the HO guys and also send an email so that you will have more details answer..

i think it should not be a problem.. and i think it is not done in person.. but me putting lotz of ?? better give a call to HO/ and also send email.. but it will be fixed by HO dont worry

Spoke to HO, and found that i need to just send Passport of my wife along with cover letter and the Scan copy of my passport should be enough.... have to send all these information to the Case worker....

Good you got clear info...

I think u understand that by means of ur passport copy it shd include mainly the Visa page apart from the other 1st 2pages and last 2pages details.. hope you sent scan of whole passport..

Following are my timelines

21st Dec, 09: Applied in person at VFS Bangalore

22nd Dec, 09 : Got SMS "Visa Application has been forwarded to BHC Chennai" .

23rd Dec, 09 : Got SMS "Visa Application is under process" .
04th Jan, 10 : "processed application sent through BlueDart"

I got my tier visa stamped for 3 years till Jan 22 2013.

Total time taken ( including the day i submitted the documents at vfs center and day i got back the passport with visa stamped ) : 7 working days !!!!.

My fiancee has applied from within UK. Here are the details:

Type: HSMP to Tier 1 (General) In-country application
Application date: 07-Dec-2009 by Royal mail special delivery (self addressed envelope attached for documents to be returned back)
Reference Number Received: 10 Dec 2009
Approval Date: Not received
Document arrived: Not received
Visa valid till: NA

Anyone else who has applied within the same time..do u think this recent weather conditions (snow storm) will have any impact or could be a cause of delay?

Application sent 9th of december
Fee deducted on the 10th of december
Reference number letter dated on the 10th of december

since then no news yet, the UKBA website says they are only considering to the 8th of december, that means I will have to wait till next week. Very stressful.

Any updates? I was thinking if they havent delivered yours then people who had applied on and before 8,,,they shouldnt expect anytime before a week or so
