hello everyone... just a quick question...

i received a letter from AIT regarding my partners appeal... and was given 26th March 2010 as the date all papers from the ECO should be handed in.. my question is,does that include the papers on my side or is that just for the ECO..

also,from anyones experiance..how long from the date given is a hearing date set?

is it worth sending an expedite letter?

that date is for all parties to have papers submitted, it is only worth using the expedite route if there are compassionate grounds to do so ie; bereavement, etc etc.....i advised you that i put the letter on alisonpals post did you have a look, also take a look at the website for the AIT theres a small piece on expedite!!!!

hi...sorry pretty political,i couldnt find the link! Hmmm the only compassionate circumstance is that its been a year since my partner left the UK and we have a daughter stuck in the middle...from what you tell me,its probably not worth writing an expedite letter

the ECO said in the refusal letter,i did not show i was able to work when my partner arrives in the UK...what "evidence" could i show that i am free? to me this sounds ridiculous?? Should i get a letter from the doctor saying i am of fit mind and body?...therefore being able to work

sorry,im clutching at strings here...i dont wana miss anything or get anything wrong

Do you currently have a job ? If no then maybe look to get a job or part time job ... that would instantly show them that you are able to work (as you will already be working)

Would your partner be looking to get a job if he arrives here ? Him looking to work once he arrives would also be of help surely ?

Yes,i used to work full time,but with current circumstances i am able to work just part time! Albiet since 2008 with the same company!!!! Thats why the ECO's request has confused me no end!

I included an standard employment letter with my details,maybe i now need one telling them what a fantastic employee i am!

my partner will not work be able to work (fiance visa)

Maybe they worded it badly ? I would guess that they maybe think that you working part time will not provide enough money for you and your partner to live off .

The visa does require ...

The applicant must be able to support him/herself, or be supported by their partner, without access to public funds.

Did you send plenty of proof showing that you are able to support yourself and your partner without the need for public funds ?

That would be my guess as to what they mean by it .

That would be my guess as to what they mean by it .

hi...yes,im aware of the guideline...however the savings he had would have most definately have covered a 6 month visa!!!

I showed original bank account statements (and copies) however the ECO apparently couldnt see my name...This is wholey untrue - all details correlated and my name was clearly visable

There are a great many people that use sham marrages , fake colleges etc . It makes it much harder for legit people to get visas , it also makes the job for immigration officers so much tougher .

As long as you show plenty of evidence i am sure things will go ok and you and your partner will get that visa

. Tell the ECO to put his/her glasses on when you lodge the appeal hehe

maybe i should add my c.v? lol and some glowing recommendations from previous employers ... u neva know until u try i guess!

lol yes,i hope the judge will be more thorough this time round! Unfortunately,this wasnt the only error made by the ECO....oh well - no point crying over spilt milk

I will update..for now its just waiting...

I have never made an application .

I am English and at my current age i have no interest in marrage and finding myself stuck with the same bird until i die

so have never applied for any type of spouse visa .

Once i get to 55-60 years old i may be interested in a 20 year old Russian mail order bride ... as long as she cooks good and is happy to clean (i am clearly not sexist though and fully respect women !!!

She met a guy 2 weeks before his visa ran out in the UK . He went back to Nigeria . My sister then went on holiday to "Cyprus" . Some time later i found out she had gone to Nigeria and married a guy none of us knew anything about .

His spouse visa was refused in Lagos because they lied saying they had been dating for 2 years , he could answer not questions about my sister because he did not know her that long ... the appeal in the UK saw my sister travel to London and tell the exact same lies ... they got the visa .

He arrived and all my sister knew of him is what he told her , he loved her (he would say that then ask her to send more money to Nigeria), he was a man of god , he respected women ..... on his 2nd weekend here he wanted to go out on a Saturday night to have sex with Polish "ladies of the night" that hung around in a local town . The marrage was quickly over .

Because of the above it makes it harder for genuine couples to get visas . Similar with fake colleges making it harder for genuine students .

oh no! ur poor sister....what happened to her is incredibly sad. Its good that u are using her story to let the world know that aswell as a few good guys,there are sum rotten!

it also nice that u can remain objective in light of everything

needless to say,im sure ur sister is well rid...it is never nice to be played. I agree with what ur saying,this does make it so much harder for genuine couples...

As she is a single mum i feel bad for the boy and not her .

I am only 30 so i have another 25-30 years until i look to marry my Russian babe *winks*

I've lived with my Russian partner for six years, ie not married, no rush, no obligations, her visa, nowt to do with me.

I don't recommend foreign marriages to anyone, too many risks, rushed relationship, cultural differences, language issues, obligation on one for legal status. It's why the vast majority go to the wall.....

However given lots of face time in non-holiday mode, some effort by both in each others languages, and some sort of interest in each others culture and literature etc, why not?!

I've always had a deep interest in Socialism/Communism and therefore the Soviet Union, out of that came the language and literature, certainly didn't want a girlfriend out of it and to be honest I don't find the Slavic look that appealing, but things happen when u least expect and it's too late now!

I was not taking the piss out of you Wanderer or anything like that with my comments in regards to mail order brides .

In regards to me ever getting married i see it as very unlikely , for a start it would mean i would have to spend half my life doing what someone else wants to do .. i would have to think about the feelings of said bird .. if it moved in bed it would wake me as would breathing noises . My dog would also get the sulk if a chick moved in .

The idea of a foreign marrage is kinda cool , if she did not speak English it would mean no yap .. lovely !!! . I may carry on my hunt for a mute bird

I think chicks are ok but males should never marry them

. It is better to be "special friends" and avoid any type of relationship .

On a side note ... I just read that Conservatives are planning a 75% drop in immigration .

My views on relationships are great

. With so many divorces and people cheating on each other , why not live lives in which all commitments are null and void until you are 50+ years old ? It is a good life to live !! .

Yes my dog is a Staff , he is called Ronnie i got him when he was 8 weeks old (Febuary 14th 2009) .

oh my gosh!! what a cutie!!!!!! I'm a sucker for puppies. They are so hard to take care of though. My staffy lab (Max) is 11 months old now. No way, I got my dog at 8 weeks old too but in April 2009.

Max loves cuddles. He probably thinks he's a cat cuz he'll sit in my lap and wait for me to hug him. I wish he'd realize how heavy he's getting.

To satisfy maintenance you should have at least Â£100.75 per week in your account after paying council tax and accommodation. This calculation is for two person(you and your spouse)..If you have a kid then check how much is income level for two people with a kid..I have a look

So you need to probe you are left more then Â£403 per month after paying accommodation and council tax..If you have this money in your account at the time of applying then you could win on maintenance..otherwise No as this is a standard based on a case law.PA vs sectary of state

And you need to send you bundle before this deadline..
