fixed depoist maintenance funds

Post by daisy80 » Fri Jan 08, 2010 4:22 pm

hI,

I was going though the mainteance funds gudiance.

i would be applying for intial tier1

can i use fixed depoist account as mainteance funds proof?

i read the guidance on homeoffice website and i could see the below detail

Evidence must be in the form of cash funds. Other accounts or financial instruments for example, shares, bonds and pension funds, regardless of notice are not acceptable

please could you advise on the same..

will my application will be accepted in such case?

FDs are accepted by HO for maintenance funds. You will find many posts in this forum. Get letter from you bank stating that the amount will be available to you when needed.

Based on a number of other posts, it seems that it is acceptable.

Sorry. I was under the impression that FDs were not accepted because when I applied, I could not use my FDs because they were tax saving FDs and were locked for a 3 year period (In India). It did not strike to me that normal FDs can be liquidated at any time. My apologies..
