Thanks Bongaye. I will call the Biometrics team tomorrow to book an appointment. I registered online, but haven't yet received the email confirmation, so probably easiest to book over the phone...

I really hope we get the ID cards soon after. Fingers crossed!

@ AntCoe,

Congrats for getting the VISA. Just a query, did you ever get told (when you called UKBA) that your application is not in the system? I have been told of the same and I do not know what does this mean.

@ coolguycp1

Thanks. It's been a long wait but now finally I can book some flights home to see my family.

Did you get a confirmation letter from them; I suspect your answer is yes.
Did they debit you with the fees; I suspect your answer is yes.

So it's definitely in the system.

They ONLY say this to people because they will be inundated with calls requesting daily updates. Their aim to be tell people to phone in only after 14 weeks. In most cases, applications are done within this 14 week period (after biometrics) Look at me, it only took 7.5 weeks. Again, this is just to prevent you from phoning in EVERYDAY.

I called them on the 11th and they refused to help me with any information because I was still well within the 14 week period when in fact my approval letter was dated a few days ago.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I know it’s difficult but just hang in there a bit longer. There are quite a few people that applied around our dates who haven’t received their biometrics or confirmation letters yet.

@ AntCoe,

Thanks for your wise words. It has given me renewed hope that things will turn around for the better and I will get the visa soon.

from your case, it looks like it may be a wait of two more weeks for me when the 14 week period will be over. Hopefully, I will get a positive anwer before that. Will keep you posted with my case.

Cheers

We received a missed delivery card from a company called DX Secure, is this for the bio-metrics card or our passports?

A post above mentioned passports being delivered by Parcel Force. Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers

Passports are always first to be delivered. Did you not include your "special delivery" envelope when you submitted your application?

Date Applied/Docs sent: 14-OCT-2009
Date Docs reached HO:20-OCT-2009
Date Payment Deducted: 21-OCT-2009
Date Docs returned as 0.0001mm out on photo : 30-NOV-2009
Date Docs returned to HO: 3-DEC-2009
Date Biometrics booking letter arrived: 09-DEC-2009
Date Biometrics Appointment Derby: 04-JAN-2010
Date Passport/Docs received from HO: 24-FEB-2010
Result & VISA stamped: 19-FEB-2010
Visa Type : FLR(M) for spouse

Unfortunately the ID Card has a mistake, the valid from date is 13/2/10 and the annoyingly the valid to date is also 13/2/10.

Notified UKBA and its going to take two weeks for a replacement card to be send. I can live with that as it means we can still have our holiday.

So received useless ID card 7 weeks 10 days after Biometrics.

I got my passport back today. That was really quick since i only did biometrics on 24th February 2010 and the letter was dated 1st March 2010. It took me 12 weeks since date applied and 4 days after biometrics.

I think the Home Office are getting their act together so hopefully future applicants should not have to wait for so long!

ID Card to arrive in seven days.

This is so frustrating. I had an appointment in the public enquiry office so that I could get the decision the same day, but because I was changing from a student visa to a spouse visa they wanted to see all my payslips for the last 4 years to show that I wasn't working outside the conditions of the student visa (max 20 hrs during term time). I was, therefore, forced to make a postal application because I couldn't get another appointment before my visa expired. If they would put this information on their website it would've been extremely helpful to me as I only took in 5 months payslips (becuase they only specified they needed for about the last 3 months).

At the public enquiry office I was told that the postal application takes up to 14 weeks, this is now week 15. I phoned up today because I needed to get my address changed and just to check that my documents weren't delivered to my old address (even though I've paid for my mail to be redirected to my new address). I was then told today that the application process is actually 4-14 weeks from date of submitting biometrics. It is absolutely frustrating because I want to visit home in May but can't book anything util I've received these documents, and am also worried about my current employment, hopefully my employer will understand and will continue to extend my contract until i get this visa.

Hi Chica

It looks like we applied around the same time. I received my passport and ID Card back in early March.

Have you done your biometrics yet? They do say you have to wait 14 weeks after the submission of biometrics, but personally from my experience, i got my ID card and Passport back 4 days after biometrics.

The wait for the biometrics letter took me 12 weeks, so hang in there you should get your letter soon. I'm sure after you do biometrics you will get your ID card quickly.

Good luck!

Thanks Panesar.
I have done my biometrics, I got my letter about 10 weeks after submitting the application and got them taken on 01 March. From the other posts I've read it seems that most people got theirs within a few weeks after submitting their biometrics, so hopefully I'll be the same and won't need to wait another 11 weeks.

Hi,
If you read throigh all the above posts, you' ll realise that you can actually phone the HO and ask for your application progress. Doing that might give you some useful information on your application but mind you, based on experience of other applicants on this forum, they can as well tell you that they can't find your application on their system just to discourage you from phoning them continously.

Good luck.

About 14 weeks - please advise

Post by new81 » Wed May 05, 2010 10:39 pm

Hi!

I am new to this forum. So, not sure how to post in the right thread. I submitted my application for HSMP dependent from student category using FLR (O). Following are the timelines:

Date docs sent: Jan 14th 2010
Date confirmation received: Jan 25th 2010

I made the payment using the postal order. Since the confirmation, I haven't received any correspondence from UKBA. Getting tensed...In previous threads, contact number was posted for inquiries. However, in one of the threads it was mentioned that if we call UKBA, they delay the processing. Is this true? I am planning to call UKBA but hesitant because of this. It is already 14 weeks... Any advice would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.
