this may be useful - http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/taxcredits/start ... /index.htm

what kind of benefits you would like to apply? i.e child?

I am not sure but as far as I know the first 3 months you are not eligible for benefits. I think after the first year you should have access to most. After 5 years you have officially equal rights.

GREAT NEWS!

Post by kAB » Mon Apr 05, 2010 8:46 pm

I haven't checked this forum for quite sometime now as I read a while ago that the processing times for EEA2 applications is 6 + months.

It was lucky of me to check today as it is really great news to know about people getting their EEA1 & 2 back in 3-4 months.

# I applied EEA1 & 2 in 7 December 2009.

# Got all the documents returned in 17 December 2009 as they gave the reason that we haven't included medical/ health insurances.

# Sent them the NHS cards with a cover letter on 19 December 2009.

# Husband recieved a COA dated 28 December 2009 (without Our Ref or Case ID). and stated that he is allowed to live and work in the UK.

# Recieved a letter on 31 March 2009 (without Our Ref or Case ID but with full name of the case worker and his unique code number) asking me to register to the WRS. (I am an A8 National but full-time student with scholarship and not working, hence, no need to register to WRS)

# Called HO immediately and spoke with a nice girl and explained about the letter. Was been told that this letter should be an error and said that there is no need for me to register to WRS and asked to write a letter back to the same person explaining this. I also asked her about reference numbers and was given 2 different numbers for me and my husband - 8 digits long. (no alphabets/all numbers)

# Sent the letter addressed to the same person at Managed Migration, Nationality Group, UK Border Agency, Department 54 on 1st April along with recent letter from university (stating that I am a full-time student) and seven other recent utility bills, for his convenience and our application support.

This does mean that they actually looked at the application pack sent on December after approximately 3 months in March.

NOW WE HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE. FINGERS CROSSED!!!

Hopefully, soon. Thanks a lot all of you guys for sharing the news and experiences. Its makes life easy for many of us.

:D

oh btw, can I ask if anyone knows if anything is written about the new processing times and the changes in the turnaround time anywhere officially?

The Home Office & UK Border employees are not well qualified! They do not get & have enough training! Unfortunately, this is one of the main reasons for the delays!!!

Thanks kAB for sharing your experiences with us.

Hello everyone!

I am in shock that I received my EEA2 residence card just 2 min. ago :)

When I saw the yellow/brown envelop I thought the HO sent back my application to request some more documents :)

Luckily I am working at home today :)

Just for your information:

Sent the EEA2 application on 5th of January 2010

Received the CoA on 19th of January 2010 (dated 17th)

Received the EEA2 6th of April (this morning)

The HO sent all the documents back with the EEA2.

I have not contacted any MPs and did not send any e-mail & fax.

The total process is less than 3 months.

Hi everyone!

Submitted my EEA2 application end of Dec 09 and received my COA before 31 Dec

Having read peoples progress hopefully I'll be getting my EEA2 soon *holds thumbs*

I have tried calling the numbers suggested earlier on in this thread but I can never get through to a person and when I dial the 232 or #32 nothing happens. Please could someone help and let me know how you actually get to speak to someone in person....

Thank you!!!

COA Received 17 December 2009
HO informed me that they have made a decision on my application on 27th March** and the Documents are waiting for dispatch.
