I was thinking the same thing. Is Taylondon female? I don't know why but I thought she was a guy.

I'm sure Tay mentioned that she was female. I could be making an assumption. There have many surprises on this thread to what sex posters actually have been

Have you not heard yet NoWayOut? You're the last of the August lot! You need to be in the "received" list!

Published targets are bullshit. The latest FOI on the net is very clear-the target of 6 months was achieved only in 70% and not in 95% as claimed.
I do agree that whatever u try its of no use..we can just moan about it.is anybody keen for an epetitition.

Dear All,

Although this is my first post here, I found this forum extremely helpful! So thank you all for your comments and advice.

I applied for ILR under the 10 year rule (7 year student and 3 year WP visa) on the 8th January 2010. I received an acknowledgement letter on the 11th of January and money was taken the same day. I have been reading through this topic for the past couple of weeks or so and I came to the conclusion that most seem to be waiting for 6 months or more so I started preparing myself mentally for a very very long wait.

To my surprise however, I received my passport today with ILR granted on the 13th April!! :D I’m not sure if this is important but it was granted in Sheffield. I also received all of my supporting documents which consisted of the following:

Work permit, letter from employer confirming my position, 3 payslips, police registration, university degrees and diplomas, and life in the UK test.

I do understand that most of the above documents were nor required but i thought i’ll enclose them anyway.
Also, my application was in my opinion a straight forward one, less than 18 months abroad, and no gaps (although one of my visas was issued 16 days after the previous one had expired, i did apply for that one by post in time and i enclosed with my application proof of that in the form of a home office confirmation of receipt letter showing that i had applied in time).
Anyway, to sum up, I waited exactly 13.8 weeks which may indicate that not all applications are dealt with in a first come first served basis.

I’ll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have and good luck to anyone who’s still waiting. I hope you don’t hate me for receiving my ILR without going through the undoubtedly painful waiting game that some of you are going through!

L
P.S. You may add my name to the list if you wish and best of luck to all.

Am I safe to assume that Kiwigirl is actually a girl?? Or am I the only female here.

Now wouldn't that be shocking if I was to say that I wasn't an actual girl.

London101 - that's fabulous news!! It's so good to read some positive news on here. It gives others hope that they too won't have to endure a long wait.

It makes me wonder if there was an issue that held up applications received during August and September due to July apps waiting less than 6 months and a lack of later months in the list. Staffing problems... filing them away in the wrong section... or it could even be that Liverpool has such a huge backlog that 10 year apps are now being directed to Sheffield who are able to process apps quicker..... all very bizarre :?

Hi again

I just received an eamil from my solicitor saying that my application has been returned from the HO today and has been rejected on the basis that the UKBA were not prepared to accept sometimes were lawful and could be counted for the purposes of the long residence rule.

I still got my previous working visa valid until 2012, and have to wait by than to apply for indefitine leave to remain.

shame really could not get it this time, just have to wait until 2010.

thanks everyone I hope you will all get yours positive

Oh no that's terrible! I'm sad to hear that. I don't understand why they rejected you, are they saying that you had periods of unlawful stay?

I can't believe they made you wait for this long for a negative outcome!

Taylondon - I'm struggling to comprehend your news. Can you appeal? I suppose on the positive side your current visa is valid until 2012 so you don't have to leave. (sorry for thinking you were female )

Terriblefish - great news!! Congrats. :D

It's nice to see this list getting smaller and smaller, it's strange to think that a few weeks ago the waiting list was longer than the recieved list. That's nearly all the 09 applicants in this thread done...just one more.

Hence the reason for the sudden influx of applications being dealt with. The 09/10 financial year is coming to an end (new budgets next month) and there will potentially be a new Government next month (new budgets and potential restructures).

No disrepect to those who have had to wait for a very long time but there is hope, especially with the news from London101, that the majority of us on this thread may have our decision by the end of May. Fingers crossed.

So tell me kiwigirl25, is there anything as a 'non-actual' girl? :D I am sure what you meant was 'Now wouldn't that be shocking if I was to say that I wasn't actually a girl'.

taylondon, really sorry to hear this news buddy.

london101, did you actually get a reply in just 13.6 weeks? Wow,that's really brilliant. Do let us know some more details i.e. did you also apply under 10 year category, were all 10 years on a student visa, did you go though a solicitor or did you apply on your own etc.
