Pakistan is one of the commonwealth countries as well, and i dont think they process applications for people from Pakistan as quick as this.
Totally agree about what you said but my comment was about the commonwealth countries that is all.

In regards to the home office and how they have some nationalities do more checks on them and delay more than others, i think i was the first in this forum who raised this point and i am sure most of us are agreeing to this fact.

By the way, I am not from Pakistan but just to be fair from the home office prospective, i come from one of these countries who are unlikely to get their applications processed quickly, but the home office ( thank god) approved my application within less than 6 weeks which i find weird but off course im happy and wish you and everyone the best of luck.

When you say confirmed by phone [[[Decision Made: 19-05-2010 (confirmed via telephone) ]]] did you recieve a phone call from the home office to query details on the application or a call just to let you know your application is approved.
Or did you call the home office and then they moved to approve you application

No the homeoffice did not call me

After about 4 weeks 3 days (20-05-2010) from the date of my application i made my first call to enquire about the status of my application. It was at this point that they informed me that a decision was made on my application a day before the call (i.e. 19-05-2010) and that a letter had not yet been prepared so i should allow 10 working days to receive it.

Please note that i wan't told if it had been approved. I was simply informed that a decision had been made. So in response to your query, my phone call did not provoke a decision or approval from UKBA. Furthermore UKBA do not tend to inform you of the outcome of your application over the phone. At most they will only let you know of its progress.

You're confused....and you should be.

You are looking at dates in June (this month) when you should be looking at the dates in the month i quoted (i.e. May). Thats how come i can say i spoke to the HO on those days. Capiche?

Who do the reception/front desk staffs at elephant and castle passport office think they are??? They are a bunch of rude/very unpleasant/loud people who think they're a class above you.. You basically need to JUST SHUT UP and LISTEN.

Oh and not to mention the interviewers... They're there to try and freak you out with their ugly/very serious with no smile face.

Anyways good luck to all those of you waiting for your approval letter :)
