visa for a new born baby in UK

Post by sowmyareddymca » Mon Jun 07, 2010 10:35 am

Hi all,

im on Tier1 visa valid till 2012. Recently i deliverd a baby, she is 4 months now. we just applied her passport from indian embassy.

now my question is: my husband is dependent visa on me and i would like to apply a dependent visa for my baby. me and my husband already got teh extentions last year. so for my baby howmuch maintence funds i should show?

is it just £533?

or 800 + 533 + 533£ ?

when i called home office they told me just 533, i want to make sure before i could apply.

thank you,
somi

Congrats for your baby!
Check the policy guidance link & look out for points 40 to 44.

As per policy guidance it should be £800+£533.

You need to satisfy the maintenance funds requirement for all of you again.
Read Point 44 of Policy Guidance for Dependants

Code: Select all

44. If a family member applies separately from the Tier 1 Migrant, there must still be enough funds to support each member of the family. Therefore in the example above, if the family has a third child, the main applicant has been in the United Kingdom for two years and the family applies for leave to remain for the third child separately, they must provide evidence that they have an additional £533 in available funds.

Right....

Requirement is simple. You have to compromise Assessing officer so that he is satisfied that when your dependent arrives in UK, you should be able to support not only him (by showing 533) but also you should be able to support all ur existing dependents in UK in addition to the Original VISA holder by showing another 800 + 533.

£800 + £533 + £533

Yes it is simple but applicants are not accepting it :-)
