Salary Account showing negative balance

Post by hsmp_apr2010 » Mon Jun 07, 2010 1:33 pm

Hi,

I am writing these queries on behalf of my friend. He is able to claim enough points to qualify for Tier 1 G.

Following is the query regarding Salary account balance.

The balance on his salary account was negative on couple of occasions.

This was due to the fact that salary account is attached to his FD account and hence every month X amount gets transferred from his salary account and to FD account. As the salary account on two occasions had balance amount less than X the balance became negative.

Query here is

1. Although all the entries in his payslip are matching the bank statements, will there be any issues if the salary account is showing negative balance? Please note that he would be showing his salary account for maintenance fund as well.

2. He has deposited lump sum amount into his account for fulfilling the requirement for maintaining funds. Will this be a problem?

Thanks,
R

Negative balance should not be a problem to prove you get your salary in the bank. But as you are showing this for maintenance of fund this will dfinitely be a problem if the balance in last 90 days is below £2800

2. He has deposited lump sum amount into his account for fulfilling the requirement for maintaining funds. Will this be a problem?
No unless the balance has gone below £2800 on any of the last 90 days

Thanks,
R

Thanks.

The balance in the last 90 days has never fallen below £2800. The negative balance was some time before 90 days. But as the evidences (Bank Statements) for previous earning and maintenance are the same the statements will be showing negative balance at some moment of time as well as maintenance fund of £2800 maintained during 90 days.

Will there be any problem considering this situation? Will negative balance be any problem as it may show that person is not financially stable before 90 days. And he is maintaining this fund only from the last 90 days just to get this visa.

Take two separate statements to feel confident

1) One for 12 months earnings period for which the claim is made
2) Second for 3 month Maintenance period claim

Technically, it will not make a difference as the caseworkers go by the book. However, specificaly mention in your cover letter the dates you want your 90 days to be counted.

I had a similar situation as yours. My salary account is attached to FD and it automatically gets transferred from salary account. To avoid confusion I took two separate statements one just showing the savings part for 12 months and the other showing only the FD part for 3 months. This was accepted and I got my visa. Check with your bank people if they can give statements on your FD account as if it is a separate account.
