Hello,
I am a doctor in non trianing post on a Tier 1 dependent visa. Now have got a tarining post and employer arranginf for CoS. Will I have to go back to home coutry to make the new application for tier 1?

just to clarify that I am switching from tier 1 dep to tier 2.
Rang UKBA today they were not so sure themselves!!!!
The guidance notes of Tier 2 say that any Tier 1 category can switch into Tier one , however does not mention dependents.[as it spec mentions dependents of tier 4]

Very confused now

AIUI, dependents cannot switch to main migrant from within the UK.

I have been told that I need tier 2 applying from home country although I am on a dependent tier 1 vis acurrentl
