extension fear!!!!

Post by b007 » Fri Mar 03, 2006 10:13 am

Hi All,
My HSMP 1 year visa expires in June 1st week. But i decided to leave my present company by the end of this month as I've few offers from other companies. That means i would be having 10 months pay slips by Mrach end and few offers. Should I inform to Home Office that I resigned from my present company and I would be accepting one of these offers or leave offers topic aside and simply proceed with 10 months pay slips ? which one is better? or wait till joining new company and after getting first month payslip send for extension?

Cheers,
Rama

Rama,

When do you anticipate starting with the new company. Since your initial HSMP leave expires 1st week of June, the ideal time to apply for an extension would be mid April.

Make sure you retain your P45 from your old employer in addition to the payslips, contract etc.

Hi,
Congrats.... I'm also going for extension shortly. Can you let me know what do you mean by employment contact? is it offer letter or employer details or references? did you work only 3 months in your 1st year visa?

Rama

I am sorry, I mistyped it, I mean employment contract (the main terms of employment).

Yeap, my visa started on April, I arrived here in July and started working in November.

Cheers,

Fabio.

Aroma, great you got your extension but before you get too excited, in view of the change to legislation announced on Monday this week, if I were you I would write back to them, sending a photocopy of the new sticker and ask if they have made a mistake? Surely it should now be four more years rather than three?

The point is that if they will not change it, in nearly three years time you will need to apply for a one-year extension.

So is your argument that it would have been better to apply late March, pay by cheque to delay matters a few days while that clears, then when someone looks at it for real it will be after 3rd April and you might have got another year on the sticker?

John,

The Questions & Answers in above link highlights the following:
"Transitional arrangements are in place to ensure that those who apply before the changes will have their applications handled under the old rules, even if the decision is made after 3 April. The date of application will be the date of postage.

We also have transitional arrangements for those who apply for settlement immediately after 3 April having only completed 4 years in the UK. Those applicants will have the opportunity to vary their application from a settlement application to a one-year leave to remain application without losing their original application fee."

It means all those who have not completed 4 years by 3rd April will have to go another one year to leave to remain.

Regards
A

Thank you for pointing out that detail. So no hope them ... IND is going to make a fortune out of all these one-year extensions.

FAST Processing in UK for for WORKING HOLIDAY MAKER

Post by t4tahir » Fri Mar 24, 2006 2:50 pm

hi ,

i applied on 14th Feb , got the refrence number on 16th , and got approval on 17th feb and got FLR approved on 6th march.

the real processing time under the case worker for my case was 3 hours , as i called home office sheifield on 17th feb which was friday at 11:00am person said on the phone that my file is sent to the case worker today and i called again at 3:00pm again to know if they recived my Urgent Treament Form as well (because i forgot to ask before) and they said my case is already approved and approval letter will be sent to you shortly .

so sometimes they are really quick ;)

regards

dejavu

Got HSMP from Working Holiday Maker , but my job and salary was more then 27000£ thats why they gave it to me real quick ( i think so )
