Hello Everyone,

I finally received my passport back with an ILR stamped on it.

I hope all other members still waiting hear from the UKBA soon.

May I suggest members whose pending applications with the UKBA are reaching approx. the 6 months mark write to the UKBA ((please send me a private message (inbox) and I will send you the e-mail addresses where you can send an e-mail to the UKBA querying about your pending ILRs)) as well as write to your local MP in this regard.

Best of luck.

Dear all,

Today I received all my supporting documents back in the post (2nd Class post), the letter said: A decision has been taken on your application and you will shortly receive notification of that decision, along with any valuable documents that were submitted such as passport/birth certificates etc.
Can anyone kindly advise me what's that indicates?

God bless us all!!!!

congatulations Aman!!! - I sent you PM

I am very glad for you , and even more happier to know that my application should be consideed some time soon - it is only now that I am actually starting to really worry about it.

Aman - did you also receive a letter from UKBA before they sent your passport with ILR back to you?

It is a somewhat strange situation - in the application form they only ask you to send passport, and do not ask for any supporting documents, but it seems that different applicants take a different approach. I personally believe that if it is not requested, then it should not be provided. what about you guys? what did you do? did you post any extra documents?

It seems UKBA is speeding up things of late.

IS there anyone who was refused after waiting 30+ weeks?

Nope, received both the passport and the letter together.

Actually yes, lots of documents and all the documents were also received back along with my passport.

Thanks DA375.

We both had applied roughly around the same time so, hopefully, you should receive your ILR by next week.

Geostar, Optimist Eternal as well as January and February applicants,

How do you feel guys? We are past our 6 months wait. I phoned UKBA today and received a very same standard reply - still under consideration. I must say the wait is now taking tall of me - I wonder what are you doing guys - did you contact BIA? did you involve your MP, did you write any letters of complaint?

I am somewhat confused and am wondering what should I do next in order to speed things up. I was hoping to go on holiday and of summer or at least end of September, but it looks now that its not going to happen, so I am now planning to ho home for Christmas, well, on condition that I will get ILR by then.

Thanks Zeddie :D

Going by the general feedback of members on this thread from the past few months, it is seen on an average that people who have been on combination visas (as opposed to people who have spent all their 10 years in the UK on a student visa) tend to get their ILRs under 10 year category processed slightly faster than the others.

As you have been on 7 year student plus 3 year WP/Tier 1, I think you would get your ILR much before the average 24 weeks mark (approx. time taken by the UKBA to process most 10 year ILR applications).

well, I asked my solicitor to phone the UKBA yesturday and the answer was that they could not give any detail away about the progress of my application, apart from that they pointed out that no timeframe exists with regard to 10 year concession rule and the whole process can take 5 8 9 or 10 months!!!!!! ....what a wanderful world!

Hello All

I have also received good news.

My immigration lawyer has informed me this morning 17.09.2010 that my ILR has been granted. What a relief indeed, I am so happy.

Here is my info:

Applied: 15.06.2010
Acknowledgement Letter: I didn't get one
Approved: 13.09.2010 from Liverpool office.

Good luck to the rest of you, I have been following this forum religiously and anxiously waiting to see if any of the people here got some good news and lately they have been flowing in which is good to hear. And I'm finally glad I am now one of them :)

Hang in there my friends I hope you all get your ILR and I wish all of you best of luck.

Take care

Quick question?

Post by t070576 » Sat Sep 18, 2010 7:56 pm

Has any of the lucky people who have received their ILR on 10 year long residence basis recently submit bank statements or pay slips as additional evidence with their application?

personally I did not send too much evidence.
My 10 years is combination of student + sudent's dependent visa.
I know from the past that UKBA in some of its applications was actually asking to not send the docyments that are not mentioned on the form
so, I sent passport, police certificate (which I need to have) and a Life in UK test certificate. The only additional document that I sent was my savings accout statement in order to prove that I am financially established and will not become a burden to society once settled.

I know that some members here sent loads of additional document but I personally think giving less is more - if they dont request it, then they don't want it.

On the other hand If you spent that period as student + other point system visa, then you may choose to post letter from employer and payslips - but this is entirely your choice.

UKBA is now cooperating with many other units, including Inland Revenue, therefore they are capable of crosschecking information about you if they wish
.

Hey guys

am new in the forum... and have a couple of questions

1- my current student visa will expire on 31/01/2012...and I have been in the UK for 10 years on 30/08/2010
Can I apply for ILR now or do I have to wait until my current visa expires?

2- Has anyone or have you heard any person had his application rejected?

3- Can I fill the application and post it by myself or is it better to be done through a solicitor?

thanx alot guys and I'll stick around with you.
