should withdraw my passport

Post by doctordoctor » Sat Oct 02, 2010 6:06 am

Hi guys, need your advice. Applied for ilr in July but had to send my expired passport as evidence of ten year stay as was waiting on my embassy to issue an new one, sent a cover letter explaining situation. Now the embassy is insisting on sighting the old passport before issuing the new one. Is it advisable to temporarily withdraw the passport? Would doing so mean withdrawing the application? Can Ho issue ilr on the expired passport? Pls advice.

Don't withdraw (34J).
Section 1 - Passports and Travel Documents wrote:9.2. ...
There is, however, no objection to placing an endorsement of indefinite leave to remain in an expired passport.

Hi Vinny,
Can the sponsor withdraw his passport for urgent travel( without affecting the application), if he has sent his along with the application of a dependent for ILR?
Thanks

I think that it's possible. Hopefully, they will have noted the sponsor's passport's contents before returning it to the sponsor.
