That was wot i requested but the fella on the phone said my boss said when u come here on the 14 of Oct. we will verify wot we need to and go ahead. I said but i want a private ceremony and he said erm.....u still need to book an appointment. Afterall u might not need one. And i said if a private ceremony takes 15 mins. Is it not a matter of coming over ther and doing the ceremony as i am away for a work trip to Kuwait next week and he mumbled again at this point i said to myself dont make life hard for the guy over phone and i said ok then.

Final update - Timelines

Post by jkmuk » Thu Oct 07, 2010 11:04 am

NCS or Postal: NCS Wycombe
Date of submission: 13 Aug 2010 (Friday)
Date of receipt of application at UKBA Liverpool: 16th Aug, 2010 (Mon)
Date of receipt of acknowledgment letter: 24th August 2010 (Dated 19th August)
Date UKBA made decision: 2 Sep 2010
Date of receipt of invitation to ceremony: 10 Sep 2010
Date of ceremony - 14 Sep 2010
Date of Passport application - 23 Sep 2010 (Postoffice Check and Send)
IPS letter for interview received - 28 Sep 2010
Date of Interview: 02 Oct 2010
Receipt of passport: 06 Oct 2010

The interesting part is that I had missed to put in the countersignatory's passport number in the application and the postoffice check and send also failed to spot the error. I recieved the passport nevertheless without it.

Thanks to all and all the best for the others who are awaiting.

My private ceremony at barking (east London) was £60.00 and they allow you to book it any time as soon as they receive your naturalisation certificate. Ceremony took just 12 mins . :o

Hi everyone - does anybody know how long on average it takes for HO to charge the debit/credit card once the application is received? From what I can see from this forum, it is generally 3 working days. It has been over a week for me, and still no activity from HO. The application was sent through NCS. Many thanks in advance.

Please note that I did not use check and send for my passport application. Also a colleague applied using postal on the same day as myself and had similar timelines to me. I believe postal is faster... But that is my opinion

Oath Timeframe

Post by 1963British » Wed Oct 13, 2010 11:13 am

UKBA approval letter was just received by next day special delivery.

Does the Oath Invitation letter come from UKBA or the local council?

Typically, what is the date on the Oath Invitation letter compared to the approval letter?

How many and how soon, have others gone on to a private oath after receiving the approval letter?

I am guessing that the certificate would be printed and mailed to the council the day after the approval letter, any other guesses?

Thanks!!

comes from the council after they have received a letter from the home office. So u will receive 2 letters in one envelope. usually comes after a week or so. for the private oath it really depends on ur council. i kno someone who had taken a oath the same day they received they invitation letter but it was because someone had cancelled.
