switching from WP to tier 1 (general)

Post by knee_hit » Sat Oct 30, 2010 9:48 am

When switching to tier 1, is the application considered as fresh application and points for earning are awarded as per -
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... s/#header1
or considered as switching from one category to another and awarded as per -
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... s/#header3

Reason i ask is, ukba point calculator gives points as per the first link while workpermit.com gives points as per the second link.

Switching from which category?

Read the heading in the second link which says as follows..

Points awarded for applications to switch into Tier 1 (General) from the Writer, composer or artist and Self-employed lawyer categories or from the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme

Thanks again.
Use UKBA's PBS calculator, after you have read through the policy guidance carefully.
