Baby's passport surrender. Whom to sign

Post by hari15 » Tue Nov 09, 2010 6:05 pm

Hi all,
I just got British Passport for me and my 1.5 years old baby

We both have indian passport

I am going to surrender to it thru VFS .

But I wonder who to sign the child's passport surrender form

Normally in UK parents will sign for baby. But in India even in passport we have baby's thumb print, hence I am confused

Can I (father) sign for my baby's passport surrender form? or do I need to get thumb print of my baby in the form?

Replies are greatly appreciated

parent's signature is more than enough for surrendering the passport.

The thumb impression is asked when you are making a making new/renew passport, since it goes onto the passport. Like when you will apply for OCI, you will be asked to get baby's thumb impression.
