Unemployed on date of (extension) application

Post by themonsoonhunter » Mon Nov 22, 2010 8:20 pm

Hi Guys,

Quick question, Do I need to be employed to get Tier 1 extension at the time of the application processing? Even though I will be able to show the earning in last any 12 months (within last 15 months) with sufficient fund.

Thanks in advance.

Not necessary according to the rules in place now.

Your earning should in a consecutive 12 month period not any 12 months within the last 15 months.

Thanks aruni4470,

I meant consecutive 12 month itself within 15 months period, is that not right ?

e.g. If I am applying in Jan 2011 I can consider :

1. Jan2010-Dec2010
2. Nov2009-Nov2010
2. Oct2009-Oct2010

please correct me if I am wring ?

If you are applying on 31st Dec 2010, then you can claim any consecutive 12 month period between 1st Oct 2009 - 31st Dec 2010

If y0u are applying 0n 15th Jan 2011, then the 15 month period should be 16th Oct 2009-15th Jan 2011

100. The applicant can claim points for previous earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period during the 15 months immediately before the date of applying.

101. All the periods we specify are calendar months (for example 14 January – 13 February).
