benefits

Post by johnnyboy1 » Sat Nov 27, 2010 12:20 pm

I am a UK citizen and my wife is here from USA on spouse visa. I am on benefits, income support and carers allowance as I have been caring for a sick parent for a few years. Also receive housing benefit. We have a two year old child and get child benefit for her.
My wife has been here for over a year now and is planning to apply for ILR within the next 6 months. I realise I am entitled to these benefits but will they refuse the ILR because I am claiming them?

ILR is based on a continuing relationship not on monetary values.
Hope this info relieves your worries.
The initial spousal visa was based on financial requirements

Hi mochyn, thanks for reply, yeah this seems like some relief but we cant be really happy until the ILR is complete. Thanks for your time.
