Anyone got their Biometric Permit?

Post by coolguycp1 » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:51 pm

Hi,

My friend applied for Tier 1 (General) by premium appointment and his biometrics were taken on the same day. He was told that the biometrics card will be issued in the next 10 days, but it is over 10 days now and he has not got his biometric card. He has urgent travel plans to make.

Does anyone else receive their biometric card within 10 days of getting the decision?

Hi,
Did you hear anything back from UKBA?
In terms of travelling soon, they might have given passport back to your friend on the same day?
If they are to issue Biometrics card, then I believe passport would be returned back on the same day.
Did he get the decision on the spot?

@ sushdmehta - thanks for attaching the biometric enrolment leaflet

@ sunny!!! - no, my friend is still waiting for the permit. Though he received his passport back on the same day and the decision was made in his favour

@trek / yh37 - thanks for your info....he will be giving a call to UKBA today, I suppose to check the status of his biometric card

I know a case where premium application was made and card came 2 days after the appointment day.

Instead of posting on this forum, you should call the biomatric department of the home office asking for your card....

No, BRP replaces the vignette!

My extension last week was a vignette in my passport (judicial review HSMP). They also took biometrics. No mention of BRP in the covering letter when my passport was returned. So I don't think I will be getting a BRP, correct?

Either BRP or vignette, not both (defeats the purpose).

Though I find it strange that HSMP JR applicants are being given leave in the old format (vignette) rather than BRP .. as HSMP JR applicants also are given "Tier 1 (General) Migrant / Dependant / Partner" status .. just as non-HSMP JR migrants are! Perhaps an internal policy to do so ... but good to know.

Yep the vignette in my passport says "Tier 1 (General)". Main thing is that there is a vignette or BRP - either is enough for me.

Confirmation from UKBA received that BRPs are not issued for FLR Tier 1 (HSMP) extensions, ie judicial review:

Dear Madam,

Thank you for your enquiry.

Please be advised that, if you made an application for further limited leave to remain on FLR Tier 1 (HSMP) application form, you will not be issued with Biometric Resident Permit.

I hope that this information will be of assistance to you.

Yours faithfully,

Hi there,

I applied for a extension of my HSMP (judicial review) visa and was requested to provide biometrics, which I did. My application has been approved and I have received my passport back with vignette inside. The cover letter did not mention a BRP. Should I receive one?

I went for my PEO appointment for tier-1 visa extension on Friday in Glasgow. It was total worth it as I got the visa in 3 hours. Now I am waiting for my BRP. Lets see how long it takes to reach me as I do have some travel plans.
