Biometric appointment - Is it possible to get appmnt early?

Post by sojan » Wed Jan 19, 2011 7:54 pm

Friends,
I've posted my T1 extension details by post to UKBA and received the acknowledgement. Waiting for the letter from UKBA for biometric enrollment..
Two issues which i think could be an issue..

1. Since its still processing applications from November, it would take long time to reach till start of Jan applications.
2. Getting appointments with Croydon biometric is >3weeks as per experience.

Guys, those who already went for biometric ..

a. How long will it take to book appointment for "biometrics only" after we get the letter? Is there any preference based on this number? as i see the enrollment should be done within a month (as mentioned in biometric document)

b. can we go ahead and book an appointment before we receive the letter ? Is there any tracking/linking mechanism with this UKBA biometric request letter if we make telephone booking?

c. Which one gives dates quicker. Online booking or telephone booking?

Just got a news from my friend..
he enrolled for biometrics from post office.. charged 16GBP per person, but easier way of giving rather than waiting for PEO's

only worrying thing is how safe are the details with post office.
