It's plain common sense. If one picks up new skills, it makes perfect sense to add them in the right order of date/time. However, one cannot add skills in an elapsed frame of time especially when the skills weren't shown in a previous version of CV.

You need to be smart about it thats all

Every job will have specific skill sets as major requirements and you may have skillsets applicable to many jobs advertised. If you use one single standard CV your chances of being selected is lower than if you have a CV relevant to a specific role that a job is asking for.

As long as you are not fudging details, it is always best to tailor your CV as per the requirement. So if you are good in Java and C++, have 2 versions of your CV each highlighting the particular technology, detailing those projects and keep the other skills details to a minimum.

Remember, most agents hunt for key words so if your CV mentions more about what that job is looking for, the agent will pick it and give you a call. The rest is then up to you. And there is no problem having multiple versions but make sure you know which version you used to get selected for an interview
