Thanks! Unfortunately today's already the 11th so will stick with Luton, I work in King's Cross so will be easier getting back. It just means an early night on Sunday to wake up at crack of dawn :)

Finally I got my approval!!! Thank you all for sharing the timelines here.
My case is "peculiar" in a sense that I sent the application on the same day that my partner got his citizenship certificate. Which means I sent the application without his passport!

It took exactly 4 weeks from the day I sent to the day I was approved. Now I am just waiting the invitation letter.

Just a curious fact: my partner had his certificate dated as 7th January 2011. They did a mistake as it should be 7th February 2011.
In January at this time he had not even applied yet! We just noticed this today when we got the docs back with my approval.

Just wondering if anyone at UKBA noticed that and did further enquiries or not. As in my form AN I put the actual date of citizenship and the certificate was wrong! It was not a problem at all in the end. Anyway, just noticed it today!
Congratulations Glauco! My husband submitted his application today also just with my naturalisation certificate as I am still yet to apply for British passport. I phoned UKBA and they assured us that it is absolutely fine.

I was just really impacient! Please keep us updated on his status. Have a nice weekend!

That's true tony, I thought the same too, that's what written on the Direct gov page:

"If you were born outside the UK and have a certificate of naturalisation or registration from the Home Office
If you were born outside the UK and have a certificate of naturalisation or registration, IPS needs:
your naturalisation or registration certificate
the passport on which you entered the UK"

Any current valid passport(s) must be enclosed. In addition for those naturalized citizen, the passport with which the individual entered the UK must be enclosed.

I got my approval letter! Will call council on monday but I know Kensington Chelsea council waiting list for ceremony is currently April 19th so might have to wait unless I go private. Fulham(neighboring council) was faster with NCS as well which is why i booked through them but asked that my ceremony be in my council--mistake maybe. Except I got married at Chelsea old town hall and for sentimental reasons wanted to have my citizenship thingy there as well..lets see what happens...

timeline so far:

CRITERIA - 2 years student +2 years FLR(M) = Eligible for citizenship once I got ILR on 17/01/11 without spending additional 1 yr ILR
Type . NCS - Fulham
Date of submission 27/01/11

Date of debit of credit card - 03/02/11

Date of decision - 4/3/11
Date of decision letter posted - 7/3/11
Date of decision letter recieved - 12/3/11

hi panhoong,

Many congratulations on getting your approval for citizenship. my question was how are eligible for citizenship when you only got ILR in February 2011 which is less than a year for the whole 3 years because you are married to a British Citizen.

Please advice because i am married to a British Citizen and i got my ILR in on the 11/01/2011. I am eligible to apply yet?

My criteria is 2years spouse visa and ILR since 11/01/11.

Thanks and congrats again.

Inglasias,

the reason I'm guessing Inglasias applied for his citizenship immediately after ILR(like I did) is because to be eligible for citizenship (if you are in a civil martnership or married to a brit citizen) you only need to have been resident in britain for 3 years(or 5 if in unamrried partnership or married to EU citizenship.
In my case, I originally came to the uk on a 2 year stuent visa, I then met my partner and later moved on to the 2 year marriage/civil partner visa, when i was eligible to apply for ILR in Jan of this year I had already been resident in the Uk for 4.5 years and had by that time met the residency requirement, and thus did not need to wait for another year after ILR....some categories still require you to wait specifically for 1 year after ILR but as a partner of a british citizen this did not apply to me, as well as I suspect to Inglasias. Hope this helps. This particular rule is an absolute bonus to those of us who transferred to FLR(m) from in country as we get our citizenships a year earlier

In your case:

when did you arrive in the UK? did you arrive in the UK before you got your FLR(M)? Have you been living in the UK for 3 years under any legal visa? If so, you may be eliglbe to apply. If you entered the uk on a marriage/partner visa, you still might have to wait an additional year after ILR just to have 3 years residency

Thank you, ingalsias.

The requirements for people applying as a partner of a British citizen is different. The main difference is that you need:

1. ILR on the day you apply for naturalisation
2. Have lived in the UK for the past 3 years.

Whereas, for other applications, they need:

1. ILR on the day they apply for naturalisation
2. Have lived in the UK for the past 5 years
3. Have been on ILR for the past 12 months before applying

The last point does not apply in my case, so therefore I was able to apply as soon as I received ILR. I've already been living in Britain for the past 5.5 years.

Hope this helps.

My approval was NOT within a week. I posted my application on 22/02/11, account was debited on 25/02/11 and the approval was on 08/03/11 (letter was received on 10/03/11). There was a typo on one of the dates in my original post.

I submitted the usual documentation but it was well prepared in a folder with each document clearly marked.

Regards.

Actually been looking out for applicants that used NCS Sutton... I used them too... :) Its seems that your application decision took almost 6wk and that ceremony Date, is that with Sutton Council too?... that is a long while to wait till the Ceremony..

I hope this has nothing to do with using NCS sutton cos this is the longest wait I have seen so far in this thread (well as far back as I cld go). I really hope that is not the processing time with Sutton NCS cos I used them too... :(
