MN1 Application without marriage cartificate

Post by helloimran » Sun Apr 03, 2011 11:03 pm

Dear Respected Members.

As i always get help and right answers of my queries from this forum,i would like to ask a question regarding MN1 from regarding my two years old daughter.

I recently got ILR under long residence rule and going to apply for British Registration for my daughter, born in UK.

As per HO,documents are required for MN1 form following:-
Parents passports,
Child Birth Certificate,
Parents marriage certificate.

Unfortunately i have marriage certificate but in urdu language (pakistani national language).

Is that enough or i need to get it into english translated.
I got appointment in Nationality Checking Services next week and do not have enough time for that.

Please advice.

Thanks
IMRAN.......

When I appied for my children BC through NCS, I was told that as a father I had to produce marriage certificate (in English). Mothers supposedly do not need to provide it, although neither MN1 form nor associated guide differentiate between mothers and fathers.
I have translated mine within a week for £15 (certified translation) using on-line company.
Off-line ones do the job on the spot. The prices do differ wildly so shop around.
I'd call NCS and ask if you need marriage certificate translated.

Marriage is not necessary if child was born from 1 July 2006.
