The form AN asks for same ID as the Life-in-UK test.. and I used a driving license for my Life-in-UK test.

However, when I applied through NCS, the person said the driving license was not required as I was sending my passport as a photo-ID.

I asked the NCS person to include my driving license anyway - just to be safe - and she did.

The way I think about it - why take a chance when you are spending so much time and money on this. So I put it in anyways - especially when the form asks for it.

No need of driving license if you send the passport.

the HO really confuse people with the way they put there words....
Evidence of identity
• *Your passport OR
• *National identity card OR
• *Home Office travel document OR
• *Home Office entitlement card OR
• *Home Office ARC letter OR
• Your birth certificate OR
• *Your photo driving licence OR
• Bank, building society or credit card statement issued to you in the last 6 months

and then its says

* if you used one of these documents when you took the Knowledge of Life in the UK test you will be expected to use it again by enclosing it with your naturalisation application..

i thought this is just for evidence of identity,if thats case passport alone should do,anyway the reason why im askin is becos my driving license still have my old adress on it.i dont mind sending it with my passport but im wondering if that wuld be a problem..Thanks

Its been quite a while since anyone here on this forum has had an approval. Most of us who applied in Fab-March have not heard anything back. There is definitely something unusual going on ! And the holiday season starting from next week is bound to add to all this delay. I am just hoping I get the approval and invitation letter by the first week of May, otherwise there are no ceremonies in my area until June. I had planned to get my passport and then OCI by July-August this year, but dont think its going to be possible now.

Anyways cant do anything but wait.

Regarding time line, all steps have ' doubled in time'.
Hence money will be in taken now in ' 2 wks ' instead of previously in ' 1 wk ' , perhaps for all applicants after last week of March, expect a letter then 15-18 days of your application being recd.
I applied on 6/04/11 and the application was recd next day. i am expecting a letter now after 20/04 and perhaps resolution in 3-4 months time.
best wishes

waoo, these 2 got the approvals and they applied in March, but don't forget guys around 200-250 people apply every day and only a small fraction comes here and give us their time lines so we can not judge the HO speed based on only couple of applicants time line.

I hope HO will try to clear some back log before holidays.

Well, I fell to the temptation of calling HO today largely due to the fact that I'm yet to get ack letter 3 weeks after the money was deducted from acct.

Yea, was told case is yet to be assigned to case worker...and can't tell whether ack letter has been sent or not.....yah all see why I've resolved to waiting till Sept?

Hi Alta, I have already received my ack letter on 7th dated 31st, your payment was taken on 28th if i remember correctly.....you should have received by now....you can blame Royal Mail 2nd Class

but from what they said ...its good news then.....your application is being checked and in verification stage before being picked up by caseworker....and i dont think we will have to wait until september..i guess at the most end of May.....fingers crossed...
