Post by funny009 » Thu Apr 28, 2011 9:43 am

Hello there,

i would like to thank you in advance for taking your time.

ok!!
i have just received my passport with ILR stamp dated 18th April 2011.

i need some advise whether i can apply for naturalization or not?

i have been in the country for more than 6 years. my initial visa was of student and i was a full time student for about 4 years and then i transferred my visa from student to a spouse of a person present and settled in the uk so i got 2 years further stay as a spouse and now i made an application for ILR on the bases of spouse visa and just got my passport with ILR stamp so i have lawfuly been in the country for more than 6 years so can i apply for Naturalization?

Your reply would be highly appriciated

If your spouse is a British citizen, then you may be eligible now.

Hi Vinny thanks for your assistance.

i have one more query(sorry to bother u)

when you say "spouse is a British citizen", do i have to send any of her documents as well along with my application? and also she was granted citizenship 1.5 years ago only which means she wasnt a british citizen at the time of our marriage (hope this doesnt matter)

Doesn't matter on how long she has been a British citizen. Include proof of her British citizenship, if required.
