It depends how many cermonies does your council do per month. So for example some councils only do 2 cermonies per month so they get the neutralisation certificates from HO twice a month.

Once they receive the certificate they send out letters the next working day.

I absolutely agree with u that some people do make their appointements before receiving their invites just because sometimes the invites already on their way i.e. been sent by councils. So when u ring them they book u in. Hope this helps... cheers

Thank you!

Yes they did send to the new address I gave them when I called them last week on the 28th... Fortunately I was spending the weekend at my cousin's anyway so I was there when the letter arrived.

Most inner London councils do that.

Okay Just clarifying... Anyone Correct me if I am wrong.

You Need 1st and Foremost the Home Office Citizenship Application Approval in order to Book your Ceremony.

Then You call to Book your Ceremony on the Date of your choice (council invitation will the Follow the Booking)

So on that basis, the Council invitation only comes after you have booked your ceremony.

I believe the person that called to Book their appointment before the Home office approval was sent to them was because, when they called Home office they were told that a decision has been made (by Home office) and they took a long shot by calling the council to book their ceremony appointment in hopes that it was an Approval and it wld be on the system so they didn't need to wait for the Home Office Approval to come in the post to book their ceremony.

oluwa112 isn't wrong either :) but

there are 2 different scenarios to look at:-

1) If u applied through NCS that means you need ur approval + the allocated reference in order to book the ceremony. (Usually both comes together in the post). In this case u don't need any invitation letter.

2) If u didn't use NCS in the first place and you have got ur approval then u have to wait for the invitation letter from ur council because you haven't got ur allocated reference number to book the ceremony as HO doesn't send it along the approval in this case.

Applied : 15th March
Approved: 14th April
Received: 28th April
Ceremony:10th May

Its taken 3-4 wks for approval here, doesnt say the card debit date but I would assume it was a week after the application, another 2 wks for the letter; so about 6 wks from card debit date one should be getting an approval letter.

People with money taken before 31/03, should get a decision in the next 2-3 wks.

Documents for NCS submission

Post by sworld » Sun May 08, 2011 7:27 pm

I submitted my application via NCS at Central Bedfordshire council. However the lady over there, refused to take any supporting documents from me. The only documents she took was copies of my 'Life in the UK passing certificate' and my passport.

I urged her to take the letter from my employer, salary and bank statements, but her response was 'The home office gets annoyed, if we send loads of documents. In case of nationality applications, they have every information at their fingertips, so only the LiUK cert and passport is required'.

Anyone else had such an experience?

Yes, NCS seems to take only very necessary docs to support this kind of application. I submitted my AN through Kensington and Chelsea NCS, and they refused to attach a number of documents which, I believe, could speed them up...

That is correct. No documents are required with Form AN1, except passport and LIUK test certificate. Why would thus NCS take any more!

Gidoc is not discussing about his approval. Dates are mentioned by barua in his earlier post in the same topic.
