Time Line - AN application

Post by vikramaditya » Sat May 14, 2011 8:30 pm

Greetings all.

My time line is as follows (most likely, my application was also caught up in the fee rise backlog+ bank holidays).

NCS or Postal: NCS Salford, submitted on 29th Mar 2011
Received by Home Office: 30th Mar 2011
Criteria: 5 Year WP + 1 Year ILR
Date of debit of debit/credit card: 7th Apr 2011
Date of receipt of acknowledgement: 13th Apr 2011
Date of receipt of approval:
Date of receipt of invitations:
Date of ceremony:
Date of appln. for passport:
Method used:
Date of receipt of passport:

Not called the Home Office and don't intend to. I am assuming the back log will be sorted in due course.

Date recieved by HO: 06/04/2011
Date Payment deducted on Credit card: 15/04/2011

Date of approval: 12 May 2011- (Rec'd on 14/05/2011)

A Letter was attached from ND stating that my son's application has been sucessful and a registeration certificate of british citizenship has been posted seprately.

Documents attached
1-Son Birth certificate
2-Son Passport
3-Father passport with ILR

My son was born in the UK before i recieved ILR on long residency basis. So Section 1(3) of British Nationality Act 1981 applies.

IT basically took ND exact 5 weeks to process this application.

Good luck to everyone else :-)

Next stop is my son's british passport!!!
ASA Sheryar
Congratulations!
Just a quick question, With MN form for children our account has filled in as refree. Do you think it could be a problem? as refree should be dealing with kids as per MN guidance?

How to be patient, fight waiting time & negative thought

Post by dsk » Sat May 14, 2011 8:54 pm

I was not eager to get result earlier. Since a friend of mine who applied after me has got everything back has made me desperate, negative thinking, frustated & impetient!
Could anyone give some tips to co-op with this waiting time!!!

One each every day of the next week hopefully. Will get us out of our misery. I need to book my tickets to LA and the airlines say, you will have to travel on the same passport you book your ticket. That's the rule.

Oh yay!!! The mid-March applicants are getting their approvals now :) Woohoo, hopefully there's only another week or two for me to wait now.

Congratulations to those approved already, and commiserations to those of you who, like me, are still waiting. Fingers crossed for news for us soon, huh? I would love to go on holiday this year with a red passport!!

I remember you mentioning this in one of your earlier posts. I have already given my Indian passport details for my summer holiday so even If I were to get me approval this month I will delay the ceremony till Mid-July so I can travel on my Indian passport without breaking any rules :D

(PS: approval does not equal to British Citizenship; Ceremony + Naturalisation certificate equals to British Citizenship)

I know VSAndroid, its race against time. I do have a 10 yr B1 / B2 US visa on my current passport, its just that when entering back in the UK with the British Passport I will atleast not have to wait in a long queue for hours. For a someone like me who makes about 7 to 8 trips in a year, the british Passport is a very handy. No hassle for any visas etc...

I am trying to resist to call HO today & tomorrow so just keeping myself as busy as possible. However these days its the heart that is rulling the brain and not the other way around.

I just went to the NCS today and the man who dealt with my application said that they had been seeing applications approved within 4-6 weeks. I mentioned hearing about it slowing down a bit and he said that he hadn't really seen that. So who knows, but all fingers crossed that he's right! Now the wait begins...

Waiting is Killing Me

Post by bierebaron » Mon May 16, 2011 11:07 am

To be honest the waiting is really killing me and I pray I do not get rejected because that would just destroy me.
