Electronic P60 statements

Post by kenfrapin » Tue May 24, 2011 10:58 am

Hi,

Recently, many companies have begun issuing eCopy of the yearly P60 forms. To my horror, mine did too stating its an acceptable replacement though it clearly says its a copy of the P60.

Can I take a colour printout of this eCopy to show yearly earnings for 2010-11? Or is this not enough and a stamp is required from the issuing tax office?

Thanks
KP

I believe the P60 would have been issued by your employer if you are a permanent employee. In that case, you can get a stamping from your employer's HR or personnel department.

Cheers

I want to add further that from FY2010-2011, eP60s are now an approved format of providing P60s rather than the previous hard copies on blue forms.

My partner and I both received an eP60 and both companies told us that a print out of this is a legal original copy as per latest HMRC guidelines and there is no need for attestation nor will they attest.

Unfortunately, as we all know how quickly the officers know of latest rules, there may be an issue where they dont accept a printout though statement from the HMRC website should help validate this. Will keep the forum posted how my application progresses as I am only providing bank statements and this eP60 as proof

Regards
KP
