Congrats to all who have received their approval and passports. Hopefully the remainder of march should be getting our letters this week.

That sounds positive. Did they say it was with a caseworker?
Yes, the guy on the phone confirmed that, but I’m not sure about that. They sometimes give you general answers. I’m not aware how long does it takes the caseworker to make a decision, any light?
What about you, do you have any update?

Don't worry. I did applied on 25/03/2011 by NCS and still waiting for approval.

I rang HO today and told me that decision has been made and letter has been mailed on 6/06/2011. Still anxiously waiting for the brown envelop.

Can anybody tell me how long will it take for the letter to reach. I did contact my council as some the posts said council would get the letter prior to us. But no joy I was told that they haven't got any information...

Hope another few more day of wait patiently...

The NCS personnel said it's a busy time because many people want to send in their application before the new fees take effect, and that there are many applications HO is dealing with and that generally application takes no more than 8weeks during this period.

Well, I better hope mine won't take more than 4weeks, else the waiting will drive me nuts.
Well, it sure took more than 4weeks :-)

Thank God, it's all over now after serious 7years commitments to this wonderful island.
Awwww... You are welcome :)... Its what we are here for. To give each other the boost and moral support when we are feeling deflated. Congratulations and happy for you. welcome to the other side of no more restrictions.

better still, if you know the name of your mp, they all have a standard email address and canbe contacted directly.

surname & first letter of their christian name @ parliament.uk

for example Bob Builder builderb@parliament.uk

@ferrari, how long did it take for your approval letter to come through. I am still awaiting mine. as posted earlier, the descision was taken last Thursday
i meant what help i can request from MP.... Any advice will be good!

I called HO yesterday - answer is still "on going".

I am planning to fax HO and politely ask if i can provide any assistance. if i dont hear anything from them then i'll contact my local MP.

It is almost 9 months !!!! it really frustrate me as I don't see why they are delaying my application - i have got clean record.

I got my PR after 10monthd! Hopefully, it won't be the same for BC. I applied on the 26March. Good luck to you through.

Hello kot_olga, VS Android and AN4

I am also a March applicant. My application was sent via NCS Salford on 29th March and I am still waiting.

I think there is a lot of variation in processing times, but given that people who applied in end-Feb and early March are just getting approval letters, we may have another week or two to go before our letters arrive. Plus as ferrarilondon has observed, because we have our passports with us (assuming all of us used NCS) the Home Office face no pressure to turn around applications quickly.

I called on May 23rd and I was told the application was waiting allocation to a caseworker. I haven't called since so I am unaware if the application has progressed. If I don't hear anything by the 23rd of this month, I will call again.

Normally you receive one approval letter saying that you will receive your ceremony invitation within 2 weeks. and week after you will get another letter inviting you to ring local council to arrange ceremony.

In my case, the approval letter doubled up as letter of invitation, so I was asked to contact the council to schedule the ceremony within 21days of reception of the brown envelope. I think it varies from council to council....
