My updated status:
Date Of Acknowledgment: 23-MAY-2011
Photo/Signature: Scanned on 24-MAY-2011
Registration status: Granted on 24-MAY-2011
Documents Printing Status: PRINTED
Documents Printed On: 04-JUN-2011
Documents Dispatched to Concerned Mission/Office on: 07-JUN-2011
Documents Received at LONDON: 08-JUN-2011

That's just 16 days from date of application! I am quite impressed by their efficiency.
(And I can't believe it took just 1 day from date of despatch to date of receipt in London!)

I plan to pick up the docs tomorrow.

All the best to everyone who is waiting for their OCI.

Mate your are simply being Lucky .....i and many have waited almost > a month .........

Their phone numbers never work . One day i tried almost 20 times ......I think they need to bring in more of professionalism ..

Is it not a shame for the biggest IT giant to be stuck in a simple printer problem for weeks ...?

Please do keep in mind that the 'printer problem' might have been something much bigger, hence took a while to be resolved.

Hopefully your OCI is actioned soon. All the best.

collecting oci

Post by shaks08 » Fri Jun 10, 2011 8:24 am

Hi guys, i have really learnt a lot from below is my online status;

Photo/Signature Scanned
On 13-APR-2011
Registration Status Granted
On 19-MAY-2011
Documents Printing Status
PRINTED
Documents Printed On
03-JUN-2011
Documents Dispatched to Concerned Mission/Office on 07-JUN-2011
Documents Received at BIRMINGHAM
On 09-JUN-2011

ok so now i just need to go and collect the oci but i am a little confused wether the office in Birmingham will sort oci the same day i give my passport as i have read on this forum that people have been given their passport on the same day (in person), but on the birmingham visa website it states that you need to drop the passport off and collect after 3 working days (in person)

please advise guys

ok i think the office in birmingham will not give the passport back on the same day and we have to come back and collect after 3 working days
if thats the case than i am better off sending via special delivery as i am in preston and can't get time off work, has anyone sent 2 applications in 1 special delivery bag or do i need to send it seperately. ( I have a single app and a family of 4 app) all need collecting as it was applied in same time and we all live in same address.
(single is for my mum and family is for my wife and 2 children)

@shaks08

One self addressed special delivery envelope is fine for all the applications. It takes upto 2 weeks if you decide to do it by post.

Should I just wait or re-submit photos again?

Post by query2011 » Thu Jun 16, 2011 2:04 pm

Hi,

I applied (as family) for the OCI on 03/06 at HCI London and the online update (OCI website) says it has been granted (for everyone in the family) on 06/06 but there is no update for printing so far.

I realise that HCI website says to re-submit the photos in case of not-being-printed even 1 week after OCI is granted but I also realise that the printer in Delhi has had a few outages recently and hence there may be a backlog.

Should I just wait for a few more days? I need to take fresh photos if I need to re-submit as my local photograher charged me £14.99 for just 2 photos for OCI last time. So submitting new photos means additional expense - something I prefer to do if that is the only option.

Thanks for your time.

Why can't they just add another line in the online status verification to say if the photos are acceptable or not than just keep us guessing?

Can't you ring people in HCI? Or email the person listed on OCI registration form. Hope all goes well. Please keep posted.

Waiting for it to be PRINTED in Delhi

Post by query2011 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 5:31 am

Has anyone whose OCI has been 'GRANTED' on or around 6th June (applied at HCI London) been moved to status 'PRINTED'? I am still waiting for mine to be printed at Delhi (mine was granted on 6th June).

I have applied on 8th June. Still not at printing stage. I guess that things may start to move forward after around 3 weeks. "TC" have you had any update on your application?

Thanks for the update. Please keep us posted as to when it will reach London. I am a bit anxious as I am planning to go to India with my daughter on 8th July and I do not want the pain of applying for VISA and it is also such waste of money and it is huge effort for me to get my children pose for the photos.

1. How do I retrieve the application. I am using the reference number and DOB but it says the application does not exist?

2. Do I have print 8 copies of this application? two for each applicant. If I do this what happens to Part A of the other applicants??

Thanks for the answering my questions.
Hi TC, how did you manage to print the applications? I am going to fill my application and want to be sure that I can print it on Monday when I have access to a printer. Thanks

Hi Inhereford,
Once you have completed the application forms, you will be sent an email with your passport number and a registration number and you can use these to print your application by using the the reprint button at the bottom of the application form.

Thanks TC for your help. Does the email arrive instantly or it takes time?
