Question about Surinder Singh Ruling

Post by ruthie » Sat Jun 18, 2011 5:35 am

I am interested to know more about the Surinder Singh ruling and trying to find some threads related my question on this forum but haven't got a clue yet. Not sure if some experts can help me out here.

My question is, if a British citizen wants to exercise EU Treaty Rights in Ireland, does he need to exactly work and pay taxes there for more than 6 months or it will be acceptable if it takes him one month to go there, settle himself down and start to work for another 4-5 months and come back after living there for 6 months? And does his family member have to be with him the whole time or just have to prove they are living together for most of the time in this 6 months in Ireland?

Would be happy to know if someone can point out the links of any threads or official documents regarding this.

Thanks,

vinny

I don't think that there is a minimum period specified.

No, as 9(2)(a) fails.
