Queries related to Naturalisation

Post by n_dinesh » Mon Jun 20, 2011 2:21 pm

Hello

I have few questions in regard to Naturalisation process. I will be completing 1 year ILR period as of 3rd August 2011 ( 5 years WP + 1 year ILR)

a) Do I need to take a prior appointment with the NCS in my area

b) Would the below documents suffice for naturalisation application
- Life in UK test result
- 3 months Salary Statement
- 3 months Pay Slips
- P60's since 2005 till date
- Passport
- Work Permit letters and ILR Letters

c) Can both the two reference person names in the application form be friends/office colleagues with British citizenship ?

Thanks for the advise.

Thanks & Regards
Dins

No. You can post your application yourself or use any NCS in the country. The advantage with NCS is that you keep your documents (they photocopy them) and they also check the application for obvious mistakes. The service cost about 40-50 Pounds depends on the council.
b) Would the below documents suffice for naturalisation application
- Life in UK test result
- 3 months Salary Statement
- 3 months Pay Slips
- P60's since 2005 till date
- Passport
- Work Permit letters and ILR Letters
No need for any employment documents. You only need your passport (and past passports) and the Life in the UK test (if not provided for ILR before).
The passport is used to show you have ILR, verify your identity and show you meet the residential requirements (entry stamps in passport).
c) Can both the two reference person names in the application form be friends/office colleagues with British citizenship ?
No problem as long as they are not related to each other and that one of them has a qualification (accountant/solicitor/teacher etc)

a) You can use any NCS - shop around, some NCS' fees might be cheaper than yours.
b) You don't need the following:
- 3 months Salary Statement
- 3 months Pay Slips
- P60's since 2005 till date
- Work Permit letters and ILR Letters
c) Yes, they can be friends/colleagues
