Hey alta, Nice to see you in this section now. feels good isn't it that you moved to next stage.
I didn't receive any letter apart from my documents via secure courier which I paid for. I just called them this morning and they said that I can book appointment. The reference number was given over the phone.
When I called interview helpline they said there are some slots in Manchester for this week or Birmingham this weekend. every where else is first week of July. London no interviews fully booked until further notice. So I booked Birmingham

Absolutely matey, it feels relieved to be a Brit, it like gaining freedom lol. It was such a wonderful feeling singing the national anthem at the ceremony as a Brit.

What's the interview's helpline no.? I will wait for 2 weeks to get my documents back, then will try to call to book interview; anywhere in the UK is fine by me, even a Scottish island will do just fine.

Query

Post by denver2k » Mon Jun 20, 2011 9:57 pm

Hi,

I had my ceremony last Thursday and will be sending my passport application from Post office in couple of days.
I read that it takes 6 weeks to receive your passport. I think i also need to send my current passport as supporting document. I can wait for this new British one but i must need my existing one within 6 weeks.

I have holidays planned for which i need to use my current passport. Is it possible that i request them to send my supportive documents earlier.

Thanks.

If you follow the timelines here, you can see that most passport applications take nowadays between 2-3 weeks not six. Depending on your holiday booking, maybe apply for a passport on your return?

Date of Passport Application: 08/06/2011
Method Used: (Postal or Post office): Post Office C&S ( Slough)

Thank you for your enquiry

I can confirm that we received your application at our Durham office on 15/06/11.

As your application is for a first adult passport you will be called to attend an interview to confirm your identity.
The application process can take up to 6 weeks although this is a non guaranteed service.

You should receive a letter inviting you to attend an interview within three weeks of submitting your application however this may take longer during busy periods. If you have not received a letter after three weeks please reply to this email.

Did you add the "X" after the numbers at the end of the Barcode on the confirmation note from C&S? or did you use just the numbers without the "X"?

Hello matey, when putting in your barcode, did you use just numbers or there is an alphabet at the end of the numbers? mine has "X" at the end

Hi allta
You use only the ten(10) digit number on your application form (the number apears for example 2326736736) there is no alphabet in it. If you use Post ofice C&S they may change the number and it can also include alphabet, it could be also less than ten. like in my case but they gave me the new barcode. the number is under the barcode lines in black ink on the first page with the word PASS written on top.

Let us know how you get on

congrats Mozart, the world is your oyster now, oh! you just got your oystercard to travel the world 8)

One question matey, did you wait for the letter for interview, or did you call them to arrange interview before receiving the letter? I ask because as it's always busy here in London, I hope they wouldn't wait till after 6weeks before sorting me out......(Maybe I'm still thinking like a non-Brit.....hahahaha)
