Timeline for Passport Applications

I didn't wait for a letter. I called the IPS a week after submitting my application and asked them for the reference number. This allowed me to call the appointments line for an appointment.

You should get the letter about7 days after application.

I wouldn't opt for the London office as the wait is apparently very long. Go for Chelmsford or Luton....depending on what's best for you of course.

It was a week yesterday since I sent my appl. What number can I reach IPS to get the ref number? also IPS appointment line?

guys just to inform you that I attended interview on Saturday in Birmingham. It took no more than 5 minutes and all general questions asked that mentioned before.
