Yes, you should be able to do that provided its been scanned into the system. Call HO and they will tell you, you can then travel on your passport while your application is being processed.

i think thats right they scanned into the system and they issue an ACK letter and then the rest of th process afterword but i am not sure about that.

09-June-2011 - Received at the UKBA
20-June-2011 - Money taken from my account
23-June-2011 - Received acknowledgment letter dated 20-June-2011

Route: Married to a Brit.

If you were aware that you will need your passport so soon, you should have applied through your local council check and send. HO made it abundantly clear that if you need your passport in the next three month, you should think carefully b4 you apply. I have a friend who applied last year and he needed to travel due to bereavement after applying for naturalization. HO advice him then to withdraw his application since his case had not been decided which he did. He had since got his approval. However, you applied through a solicitor, you should be able to seek advice from the him/her since you paid for the service ( I Assumed )

on a positive note, i beleve your approval will come though end of july/early august

I've just got off the phone and they said a decision was made last week. I applied 11/04, got acknowledgement letter dated 21/04, I have since called about 4 times, today been 5th.


Edited: I just got my letter through the post, its successful and I'm just awaiting my invitation.

Mine is Straight forward application yet it seems, long wait 10 weeks+!!!

Does anyone know usually at what time ceremonies are conducted? I am with Greenwich council and I am planning to fly down from NY on the day of ceremony and the latest available flight will be arriving at 6.35 am (so wont reach greenwich before 9.30 am).

Wow, irinka, that is super quick and very encouraging. I applied on 28 April but because of the royal wedding and bank holiday, application reached home office on 3rd of May and card was debitted on the 8th of May, got acknowledgement on 11th May dated 9th. Hopefully and fingers crossed, I should be getting my brownie soon!!

Called the HO today morning and found that the letters have been posted on friday afternoon for my application made on 03 May 2011.

The decision on my application was made on 16 June 2011 and the letter was printed on 17 June 2001.

I think all the April and May applications whose decisions were made on or before 17 June should receive their letters by this week.

Congrate mate.....seems like may app is now coming thru..i applied on the 17th of may ack was dated 26th of may,havent made any call yet planned callin in first or secound week of jul...

Your approval letter should say that you need to call your Council to book an appintment for Ceremony
