I have been reading along and congratulations to everyone who has received their ILR docs!

I filed on 7th May for my son and myself.

I have tickets booked for flying my son over to the US to visit with his father for the summer, as per our custody agreement. The flights are this Saturday and I still don't have our passports. :(

I am flipping out...to say the least!
It is promising to see others are receiving their documents and I am really hoping ours show up in the next 3 days!

UPDATE-- Incredibly our passports arrived today! We fly to the states at 4pm today. Talk about down to the wire! We are also approved for our ILR :) Good day all around!

u can not find a simple example like this any where in the world, charging you 970 pounds? its too much, nearly 1500 dollars, even USA don't charge you that much for green card. and service providing in return is as low as.....!!! and more painful keeping your passport and you don't have the right to have? ok, you have too many applicants, send back passport with acknowledgment letter and whenever its appropriate time let us know to re send our passports. You know what guys? we have led them to treat us like that, I am going to wait for 10 days more and if there is no news I am going to find 10 people like myself file a chain claim against home office for breaching our human rights?

This is so traumatic. I lost so many job opportunities as my passport is still held by them. We all should file a petition to get more services from them. Atleast they are accountable for letting us know the current status of our application.

And set more realistic deadlines, not this fuzzy up to 6 months. So you know what to expect.
972 pounds for 6 months of this torture...

@Hellog123:
exactly... 6 months... its something unreasonable which should be quashed by our actions. I am up for any kind of petition or even protest in front of home office. they should be responsible for their actions.

I know in Czech Republic ILR is a separate document, so they don't have to keep your passport to stamp a visa in it. In Italy the same - separate plastic card. Don't know about other countries enough...
But here because it must be in our passport they keep it untill decision is made. But they do it not because they are stupid, they are just greedy. When our passports are expired we'll have to pay 200 pounds just for transfer our ILR to a new passport.

@Ana_w: That's right but still they can ask us to resend our passports when its our turn or when the application reach to the decision making point. I am really thinking to stand against this unfair and unjust procedure? We have brought a lot to this country, why we should be treated like this. Ana do you agree with any sort of chain complain or petition?
