No, they don't discuss cases. My husband called main number last week to ask his passport back, he needs it for business trip urgently. They said you'll get your passport within 15 working days (is it urgently? ) and when he asked about progress of my application they said they don't answer questions like that.
More then a week after this call and he still has no passport back.

Did you try the direct dial number listed on your acknowledgement letter?

Yes, it was the number from ack letter
Maybe they discuss it only with MPs...
My only hope that my husband's call to them is the reason to pick up my case at least and have a look what's in it and 15 working days is not just for finding his passport....

It is possible that they have a reduced workforce (given the amount of redundancies happening recently) which will delay the processing of applications.

I hope they've got a reduced workforce and that that is the reason for delay!!

My ILR application was sent 20th April 2011 (so it falls under new rules)

Home office requested additional documents on the 7th July - which made me think "yay - they're actually looking at it"

but I haven't heard anything since....still waiting....

(additional documents requested were my original degree certificates)

ILR granted!

Post by hellog123 » Sat Jul 23, 2011 7:54 am

Applied on 9 th may-
Acknowledgement-13th may
ILR received - 23rd july 2011.

stamped on 12 july.

So the ordeal is over. I can only say to those ppl who r waiting for it to never lose the hope and that a time would come when postman would also knock at your door and you would get to see those magic letters endorsed on your stamp named ' Indefinite leave to reman in the UK'

Yes, congratulations!

I'm still waiting...
By the way do they throw it in the post slot of your door? Or your sign is required and I should expect a knock?

This waiting makes me mad.

Congrats Hellog123!!!

Where was your ILR stamped?
And what category?

I can't believe it took 10 days just to get your ILR back???

I just looked at my ACK letter and mine is at the dreaded Croydon, not known for their speedy turnaround times.... :(

Anyone knows that waiting time for ILR outside the immigration rules is the same as the other category or take longer or shorter??
