are Residence cards given under EEA2 application valid for 5 years? and does it state that the holder is a “Family member of an EU/EEE Nationalâ€

That's how it looks like (well that's an older format but the newer one is very similar and bears the same text) and that's how it should be accepted by border police.

thanks for information. So it does mention that family member of an EEA national. In that case we do not need visa to travel to any europenian countires!

The newer one is not just similsr but exactly looks like the same as I recently got in August and I compared with it,exactly the same wording and look.

If you are travelling with your EEA national partner and in case of reunion of family.Otherwise u need to apply for schengen visa.

So you are saying that you do not have the hologram instead of the red circle on the top left and have an embossed stamp circling the royal coats of arms?

unles it states that Residence card of Family member of an EEA national I am ok with that. I do not want to apply for schengen visa anymore sick and tired of that. lol

So after 5 years when we are applying for EEA4 I was wondering what do they check? do we have to work and pay tax and support all P60's and are we allowed for child benefit of any other benefit? do u think do they effect their decision to get benefit during this 5 years?

Yes, you will need a full work and residence history to have permanent residence acknowledged. Benefits (but generally not social assistance) are permissible before PR.

I dont think its real as it says place of issue croydon but residence card is issued at Liverpool.

Boy, are you sharp! Just an hour ago you claimed that yours would be exactly the same. You better not consider a career in law enforcement...

FYI: until early 2008 all EEA applications were handled in Croydon before the UKBA was formed and most of the EEA services were shifted to Liverpool.

Hi everyone in this forum. I send my EEA1 & EEA2 Application 26/07/2011 but I havnt received anything yet & my student visa is expire on 24/10/2011. I have good job but my employer asking some sort of evidence to renew my contract which will end of September. I married two weeks before I send my application to UKBA.I don't know how many days I have to wait ? Please advice me guys what is the minimum time period to get COA.I am worried because without my job we will be in difficult situation because my wife salary is very low & we can't surview in one salary. ( Expensive Rent+travelling+food+other bills + medicins) it too much for us. Till now from both of us no saving at all. We both are in relationship since 2009 but we moved toghther in 1/02/2011. Happy family & lot of dreams to settled down.

you still have time,sometimes coa can take upto 6 weeks to reach.Call EU inquiry line and find out if they have dispatch it.

Hi everyone I just received note from YODEL.co.uk that parcel is waiting for to collect but I am not sure for whom ? because its not mentioned any name on it just flat number and my landlord on holiday more then 25 days so we both don't know what it will be ? I need to check on website and type my reference number to choose pick up date because myself and my wife we both are busy during day time so probably on Wednesday free to pick up.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I am doubting that it is from the home office. I would have thought until Royal Mail is sold off it would be in the national interest to exclusively use Royal mail.

If it from Yodel maybe someone bought something on ebay and got it delivered there. My old flatmates still get their parcels delivered here.

But, I hope I'm wrong and the home office have switched their carrier (for your sake) and your COA is there waiting.

Just an FYI... An American friend of mine (married to a Polish national) who is also in the UK applied for his EEA2 three weeks ago and received his COA less than a week later, dated 3 days after he mailed out his package. It's incredible how quickly he received it and I'll be honest, I was a bit jealous! Hopefully this means things are going a bit quicker over in the Liverpool office. I'm still waiting on my EEA2 to arrive. September 10 marks 3 months since I've mailed it all out. Fingers crossed I'll receive it within the next week or two....

Are there any cases out there that took more than six months to process? My application turns 6 months old next Monday and I would like to know what to do, since I have to travel on Oct. 1.

if you have got ur coa call them and write them an e-mail to remind them that they can not keep passport more than 6 months if not working then go to the lawyer fight against them where you will be have fully right there.

Thanks for your reply; yes, I received my COA about a month after applying. I'll try writing and calling starting next Monday, hopefully that will have some effect.
