3 months requirement for £200,000 funds?

Post by tuliprose » Tue Sep 06, 2011 12:04 pm

Hello
I have gone through the policy guidance downloaded from UKBA website but cann't see any requirement for the funds (£200,000) held in third party's account for minimum 3 months.

But the guidance notes downloaded from ukvisas.gov.uk mentions that funds must be held in the account for atleast three months.

Any idea what is the actual requirement?

And can somebody show fixed deposit Certificates (cashable without any notice) as available funds??

Many thanks.

There is no three month requirement for capital. Maintenance money has to be held by you for 3 months; that is clear and obvious but the three month window with regard to investment capital stems from the requirement that the letter you provide from your AFI must be no more than 3 months old. However, it can be just a week old if the money has been with them for only one week.

Evidence of access to investment funds
You must provide a letter from each financial institution holding your funds, to confirm the amount of money available to you (or to you and the other applicant, if you have formed an entrepreneurial team).

Each letter must be:
on the institution's official headed paper;
issued by an authorised official of that institution; and
written within the 3 months immediately before the date of the application.
