EEA2!

Post by shakesy » Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:12 am

EEA 2 Timeline:

(Married, EU partner is freelancer - part year employed, part year self employed.)

12 March 2011 - Sent EEA2 Application

1 April 2011 - Application Returned
Requested proof of EEA partner exercising Treaty Rights/working (payment of HMRC and NI, paychecks)

29 June 2011 - New EEA2 Application, included EEA 2's HMRC self assessment, NI insurance payments, pay stubs, invoices, accountant's letter, and personal docs

20 July 2011- COA

27 July 2011- Had requested passports back for possible travel, received both.
(Did not actually travel - but needed mine for banking purposes, and partner's for travel and renewal.)

11 Aug 2011- Letter asking to have applicant's passport returned so that application may be considered.*

18 Aug 2011- RC Issued!!!

14 Sept 2011- Arrived in Post

(not using the pre-paid envelope I sent.)

Thanks for all the info on this forum - really helped when your in the dark waiting!

Hopefully, they will release a big batch of RCs this week. If some COAs are arriving sooner then maybe they are actually doing their jobs.
Anyone who applied around the 18th of may recieved their RC?

My time scale
APPLICATION SENT 17/05/2011
RECIEVED BY UKBA 18/05/2011
COA RECIEVED JUNE 20TH
RC ?????????

I can see some applicants before this date got their RCs. I am married to EU NATIONAL FOR 3YEARS( NOW SEPARATED BUT NOT DIVORCE).

Anyone with the same time frame????

It doesn't really seem to matter when you sent it cos from what I can see they don't take them in batches so people that submitted around the same time as you may still wait longer than you. In the same way, people that applied on the same day or after me have already got theirs (congratulations by the way)

Hopefully yours is issued soon. Stiff upper lip and all that :)

Hi hello nad1983

I am happy for you congratulation for your RC after long wait. Did they gave RC in A4 paper ? What I understood with your post that they keep your and your wife passport with them and they post your RC in A4 paper is it right ?
If yes call them and ask about your documents or fax if nothing respond complain because now you dont have to worry because you already have RC in your hand just need to wait for your documents so go head and enjoy your peaceful life once again congratualtion

Right, its time for good news!

Today I received my Residence Card!

I'm kind of over the moon now! The total waiting time is 3 months and 21 days!

UKBA received the application 26 May 2011
COA Received 24 June 2011
I requested my old passport 26 August 2011
I received RC card 16 September 2011 (dated 26 August 2011)

I sent them my two passports, one is the old passport where my previous permit was attached and the other is my new passport that I renewed before I applied. So I requested my old passport as I needed to show all my visas to my embassy which was not urgent but I told UKBA that it was urgent as it had been 3 months and I had no patience to wait more..

I added two special delivery envelopes in my application and they used one of them to return and sent the other one back with all the documents.

I applied as a Civil partner of an EEA national who has been living here for 10 years and exercising the treaty rights both doing professional studies and work.

I have been in UK for 5 years and I was on ECAA Turkish Employed visa which is a work permit. I need to extend it every year so thats why we chose EEA route as it gives longer residence permit. I also work full time in a company.

We have been together for 3 years and got married in May 2011.

I suggest people who feel confident about their application to put an urgent request to get one of your documents sent back if its been more than 3 months they have been waiting.

DO NOT request your passport; it could create risk, as they could send your passport and you might have your visa issued on A4 paper. This really depends on your application and their workload.

Good luck to you all who are waiting! This has been real trouble to wait and I know its difficult. I wish you all the best!

Tebrikler!

I am also waiting for my EEA2 application and I requested my passport with marriage certificate 3 weeks ago because i needed to enroll my university and still waiting for it when i called them, they confirmed they have received my request but haven't sent it yet and when i ask "why" officer sounds getting upset. Still waiting for it, hopefully i will get it soon.

Hi nad1983 I believe after you complained to NWCSU ( caseworker) post RC immidately to you to cover their mistake & put the date 04 July on A4 piece of paper to show that they done their work in six month rule.In this case we can figure out that the complain is actually worthfull. Regarding documents they will send you very soon.once again thank you for sharing your information on this forum so others can get benfit. I requesting evryone on this forum please share your expeirence so other people can guess & understand the situation & can prepare their doccuments to avoid any mistake or delay from home office thank you to all

Quick question, how did you get in touch with the NWCSU? was it by email, post or phone? I have put in two requests and all the enquiry people know is the requests have gone in successfully but the cannot make the caseworkers do it any faster it's "in processing".

Any info would be appreciated. Congratulations on receiving your RC's by the way.... everyone else, keep you head up it'll come for you too ;)
