Visa Processing time, General Tourist, from India

Post by ankjain » Wed Sep 07, 2011 7:04 pm

Hi,
We are in a tough situation. We have applied visa for my wife and son (9 months) on 26th Aug. I already have tier-II visa and traveling to UK on 17th Sep. I have read on the forum that currently they are taking more than 3-4 weeks for General Purpose Visa. Does anyone experienced/know of case where they got their visa earlier?
What can we do? Please advise.

Thanks a lot !!

You can see the average wait timeson the UKBA site but are you correct in that you want visit visas for them rather than PBS dependant?

Why did you apply for a visit visa when you have a Tier 2? This could potentially cause issues as there would be very little reason for them to return after their "visit" if they are joining you.

I recently applied visitor visa for my mother in law, we didnot show the flight ticket and visa is granted for 6 months. If we book the flight ticket for the duration of 5 months stay in UK, will that create problem in UK airport during immigration?
Is there any maximum time limit for a single visit, btw we had mentioned in the visa application form as 2 weeks stay in UK.
Please advise

It's a two-way street, you also chose to ignore questions directed to you.

At no point did you indicate that your spouse is employed in India and you only disclose that after the fact.
